Knowledge is knowing that according to a US supreme court ruling in 1893, the tomato is a vegetable, but botanically speaking, it is a fruit.

What if you make a fruit salad out of avocados and tomatoes? They are both fruit, so technically it would still be a fruit salad.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The joke is that you shouldn't put tomato in a fruit salad because it ould taste gross. Hmmm... pineapple, grapes... tomato, ew!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

hilarious.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I got the joke, but I'm saying that Avocados are fruit also, but most people think they are vegetables, so most people would think that would be a salad, but technically it would be a fruit salad.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If you put pasta in a salad, it's stil a salad, but a pasta salald. .....? So what's your point about avocados?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

My point is that most people think that avocados are a vegetable, but like tomatoes, they are actually fruit. So while putting tomatoes in a normal fruit salad would be gross, if you made it with tomatoes and avocados and nothing else it wouldn't be bad because those two go together, and it would be a fruit salad. So, really you could make a good fruit salad with tomatoes.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

True, true. But it wouldn't really be a salad with only two ingredients, it would just be tomato and avocado mixed together in a bowl. So just face it, tomatos should not be put in a fruit salad.
