The plural of stupid post is you.
This had such great possibilities, but you had to ruin it with bus....
by Anonymous14 years ago
No, the plural of bus is buses. Are you stupid? The plural of penis is peni, and there isn't a -us at the end. There are other rules than ending in -us.
Yes, I am a certified Grammar Nazi (almost).

(Sorta Grammar Nazi): The plural of penis is penises.
by Anonymous14 years ago
I am also a certified Nazi
by Anonymous14 years ago
(Sorta Grammar Nazi): Is that actually true?
by Anonymous14 years ago
(Sorta Grammar Nazi): What makes you think that the plural of penis is penises? The only reason the plural ending of a noun would change to -i would be if the singular form of the noun ended in -us (Ex: s. radius, p. radii; s. cactus, p. cacti; etc.). "Penis" ends in -is, so the plural of penis would not be peni.

Only words that have a Latin root that end in -us have their plural ending changed to -i...

The plural of minimum is minima, the plural of medium is media, so the plural of gum is ga!
by Anonymous14 years ago
Radius and cactus have Latin roots, so we treat them that way. Bus doesn't. It really depends on their grammatical background.
by Anonymous14 years ago
Doesn't it have to do with the syllables? Just speculating.
by Anonymous14 years ago
When I take over the country this will be enforced - plural of 'bus' will be 'bi' and any objection will be met with forced re-education.
by Anonymous12 years ago
"bus" does actually have a Latin derivation.
It is a contraction of "omnibus" which is the Latin word meaning "for everybody".
"Omnibus" is not a noun (obviously) and therefore doesn't have a plural, so the plural of "bus" is in fact "buses".
The plural of "pus", on the other hand, is 3.1415
