+295 Girls: when you're straightening your hair, you burn yourself on your actual hair more often than on the scalding plates of metal in you're holding, amirite?

yea except for the one time i accidentally clamped the straightener on my hand instead of my hair. OOPSIES

I once almost dropped my straightener. I didn't want it to break, so I reached out to catch it. It was as the 350 degree metal touched my hand that I realized it was plastic, not ceramic, and falling a foot onto the counter wouldn't have hurt it in the least.

I broke my ceramic straightener like that.. But wouldn't plastic at that temperature melt? I would imagine that it would at least have to be metal.

Well the plates were metal, but they wouldn't break either.
