+118 The base unit of procrastination is 5 minutes, amirite?

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Tomorrow is going to be best and most productive day of my life.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Tomorrow me is going to be *so* productive. But current me deserves to smoke a bowl and play some vidya.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Been saying that for years.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Never realized it till now, but ya, same here.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

His breakfast will taste better than any meal you and I have ever tasted.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Also known as "a bit".

by Anonymous 2 years ago

One tomorrow is equivalent to a byte.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Eventually is a MB

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Actually 40 minutes is a byte

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Also known as "later"

by Anonymous 2 years ago

I don't know man, I work in base months sometimes.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

More of this

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Later

by Anonymous 2 years ago

No. Moar. Moar nao.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Gimmie five minutes

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Hey, it's been at least five minutes, mate.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

You gotta pump those numbers up, those are rookie numbers.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Over achiever

by Anonymous 2 years ago

I don't get it

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Pretty sure they're saying when people are asked to do things they'll say they need 5. Loads of people say "Gimme a minute" or "Give me a sec" and then come back like an hour later.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

AKA: 300 seconds

by Anonymous 2 years ago

AKA: 0.83 hours

by Anonymous 2 years ago

0.825 hours\*

by Anonymous 2 years ago

I'm gonna kick your ass for correcting me, nerd

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Yes please, daddy

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Also known as "one sec"

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Hahahaha i wish I had my free award for you...

by Anonymous 2 years ago

I have a free award to give them but I'll do it later

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Hold on just a minute…

by Anonymous 2 years ago

People are seemingly missing the point of "base unit". The smallest amount is 5 minutes. Which in all respect is true. I'll confirm what I'm saying in a bit though.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

I'll give you my opinion tomorrow

by Anonymous 2 years ago

This is Marginal Analysis.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Just one more minute.... *Just one more minute....*

by Anonymous 2 years ago

If 5 minutes is after this…

by Anonymous 2 years ago

For me it's whatever amount of minutes gets me to the next half-hour or hour mark. Then I'll start. (Theoretically.)

by Anonymous 2 years ago

I think this is accurate. I blame my kindergarten teachers who would end recess by shouting, "five minutes," and I would run up and get in line. Five minutes seemed like forever standing in that line.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

how did you figure this out>?

by Anonymous 2 years ago

You're obviously an amateur. I negotiate my procrastinations in base units of months or years. The juice has to be worth the squeeze, right?

by Anonymous 2 years ago

... i would challenge this, but I need to get more material. I'll go do that in like... five minutes.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

That's a weird way to spell "days"

by Anonymous 2 years ago

I conducted a small poll recently and came to the same conclusion

by Anonymous 2 years ago

I argue that it's fewer.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

There is a fine balance between procrastination and indecision

by Anonymous 2 years ago

I'll give you thirty seconds, and I'm gone...

by Anonymous 2 years ago

I would say something els, but i might wait a week tbh. Ill keep you guys updated maybe.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Guess I'm on Base 2moro

by Anonymous 2 years ago

This...does not make me feel great about my procrastination sessions! ;)

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Hah you sweet summer child. Raise you 5 years

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Unless you're in grad school, in which case the base unit is a thesis

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Give me two seconds...

by Anonymous 2 years ago

My ADHD begs to differ. It's more like 5 seconds for me.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Or "one more game"

by Anonymous 2 years ago

-laughs in ADHD-

by Anonymous 2 years ago

3 - 5 business days

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Honestly yeah. Sometimes I like to think of stuff based on stuff I'm looking at. I will often stand up staring into the distance thinking of things. I do this for quite a while, so yeah at least 5 minutes. I am procrastinating on the thing I was doing before thinking. I wish I wasn't so lazy and bad with words that could write my ideas down.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

I'll procrastinate later

by Anonymous 2 years ago

If you haven't wasted 30 minutes are you really procrastinating?

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Give me a minute to think about that.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Can I have 5 minutes to think about this?

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Tbh for me it's 2 min lol.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Girlfriend: "Can you give me a ride to the store?" ME: "Sure are you ready?" Girlfriend: "I just need to put on my shoes." Me (15 minutes later) "Let's go!" Girlfriend: "Don't rush me. I'm working on it. It makes me nervous when you always rush me." Me: "I'll be in the car."

by Anonymous 2 years ago

my base unit is 20 mins

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Well I'm up to about 15 of those so...

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Okay this is really good.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Two procrastinations please

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Not sure that's right, but I'll get to it later

by Anonymous 2 years ago

My minute to minute alarm setting habit says otherwise 🤣

by Anonymous 2 years ago

there is no such thing as a 10 minute meeting

by Anonymous 2 years ago

So there is a minimum?

by Anonymous 2 years ago

I will have to get back to you on that

by Anonymous 2 years ago

I agree but often the base unit is not used always. Often, when waking up, I give myself 3 minutes and 32 seconds to get up.

by Anonymous 2 years ago

!remindme 5 minutes

by Anonymous 2 years ago

"Just give me a sec"

by Anonymous 2 years ago

I've decided to make the base unit one life

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Wasn't it a denomination of 1, 3 and 5s?

by Anonymous 2 years ago

As documented by the landmark study "Pre-Zoom Meeting Bathroom Break Expediency in Work From Home Settings"

by Anonymous 2 years ago

It can take as little as 2 minutes to procrasturbate

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Not for me

by Anonymous 2 years ago

whoa calm down don't rush things
