I live in the southwest and lemme tell you, if you want to see me more irritable and pissed than a rattlesnake in a vinegar tub, leave me out in 80-100 degree sunlight for a few moments. It "beating down" on you is exactly it too, it can't just be hot you have to feel the sun slapping your skin repeatedly.

When my daughter was 1 I let her mom convince me to choose Texas as my duty station. Soon as i could I skedaddled back to WA. My daughter moved back to Texas and lives there now and I'm happy for her but man she can keep it.

Yeah I'm right there with you, glad to hear she likes it but man she can keep it for sure. I was born here and been here most my life but I definitely plan to end up somewhere less arid in the future when life circumstances allow.

You also sound like someone who make the city unpleasant.

moved there for five years and can confirm. my opinion, the entire city is suffering from a collected vitamin D deficiency. even if you are having a nice day, the majority of the people you are interacting with are not. the call it the seattle freeze and label it as some sort of cute quirk. however, it is not cute quirk, there are symptoms, the city is suffering from a serious mental health crisis.

Meh, I like it here. True, the winters are long and brutal but if you stay active you can avoid seasonal depression. And the summer are heaven on earth.

You just described Great Britain

Sounds similar most if not all of Western Europe. Looks like I'd do fine in this city especially when it comes to climate as I'm from the Netherlands

Was in Seattle for work a few years ago. Dirty and gross. Was booked by a local into a supposed "nice hotel". Homeless people fighting right at the front door. No thanks.
