+63 Buccees is just a gas station. amirite?

by Elviebalistreri 3 months ago

Their brisket sandwiches are arguably better than some of the fast food options you might pass by on a road trip. Plus, the bathrooms are guaranteed to be spotless, unlike many other gas stations. I would agree that it's become somewhat of a tourist trap these days.

by AncientCategory 3 months ago

Bathrooms? Yeah. Nice. Their brisket sandwiches are a crime against Texas and should be prosecuted to the maximum

This reads like an ad.

I loved South of the Border. I actually would go back if I'm ever in the area.

by milfordhilll 3 months ago

Unless something has happen after COVID, it definitely has become a shell of its former self. But I haven't been there in 5 years now.

by wymangerry 3 months ago

It took off during the pandemic when people needed stuff to do, and they saw it on tik tok a lot

by Top_Bonus_6901 3 months ago

You yelling about it doesn't change that it's still a roadside attraction during road trips You act like all they sell and do is gas, they have much more, hence the attraction portion of it.

by Street-Palpitation 3 months ago

You think people have to agree with you because it's unpopular opinion?

by Street-Palpitation 3 months ago

You think this is outrage? Wow

by Street-Palpitation 3 months ago

Well. You thinking buying comics dumb is certainly your opinion! Not sure if it's an unpopular one or not. Just hope you realize comics and buccees have nothing to do with eachother……

by Elviebalistreri 3 months ago

How dare people enjoy things.

by Economy_Ninja_6425 3 months ago

Your responses are the ones that come across as angry. Somebody calmly explains why they like bucees, and you respond like it was a personal attack on you

by Technical-Kick 3 months ago

lol so true. When I was in high school (2008-2012) I remember my friends were astonished I'd never been to Buccees at the time. Buccees also wasn't as plentiful. I was like "y'all need to chill. It's just a gas station. Not Disney world" I've since been to Buccees many times (and Disney world once) and though it is nicer than most gas stations, it's still just a gas station 😂

by Anonymous 3 months ago

It's cool to have an opinion, but keep the unhappiness projection to yourself.💫

by Anonymous 3 months ago

You don't have to like the opinion. That's what makes it unpopular.

by Elviebalistreri 3 months ago

These don't even make sense anymore.

by Anonymous 3 months ago

I mean you are in unpopular opinion. Idk why you're getting upset.

by Grady96 3 months ago

Let's get you a dictionary so you can look up the meaning of "upset."🤣

by Anonymous 3 months ago

You seem toxic and unpleasant to deal with. Maybe get that checked out.

by Grady96 3 months ago

You seem awfully sensitive.

by Anonymous 3 months ago

I know you are but what am I?

by Grady96 3 months ago

Really, guy?

by Anonymous 3 months ago

The food there is above avg quality for restaurants. Ppl have this weird idea of popular things for no reason. I can guarantee you if you put a buccee's pulled pork sandwich next to some 8/10 place, the buccees would be better in price and quality.

by FoldFlat7109 3 months ago

It's a gas station

by Elviebalistreri 3 months ago

Yeah and they cook their bbq on site. Half the restaurants in america orders frozen meals and sells them to diners.

by FoldFlat7109 3 months ago

Yeah there are plenty of gas stations that have mini restaurants in them. Here in Texas we also have Laredo taco in a lot of Valero's and they have pretty decent tacos. It's nothing special to have food at a gas station.

by Elviebalistreri 3 months ago

The difference is crappy gas station fast food verses restaurant quality food

by Anonymous 3 months ago

Why are you going to a gas station for food?

by Elviebalistreri 3 months ago

Almost no one goes to Buccees as their destination, they're in the middle of nowhere If I'm on a road trip and need to eat and have the option between McDonalds or high quality barbecue at Buccees, why would I choose crappy fast food?

by Anonymous 3 months ago

I challenge you to find one other gas station chain in the entire continental US that has fresh, never frozen, cooked in house BBQ. Buccees is literally the only one

by Strict_Island 3 months ago

If you're going to a gas station for bbq…..I feel sad for you. Also, Laredo taco, as I previously stated, cooks all their food fresh on site. Massive offset smokers outside. It's not bbq but it's fresh food.

by Elviebalistreri 3 months ago

Yeah, and the sandwiches are pretty good

by Anonymous 3 months ago

Compared to what? Other gas station sandwiches? Lol

by Elviebalistreri 3 months ago

Compared to nothing, I just think they're pretty good

by Anonymous 3 months ago

Sweet!

by Elviebalistreri 3 months ago

Absolutely

by Anonymous 3 months ago

It's like when people brag about how smart their pets are. My response "compared to what? You?"

by Elviebalistreri 3 months ago

Not really. You agreed to bar is low (only comparing against other gas station food), which is similar to per intelligence. Reading just isn't your thing huh?

by Elviebalistreri 3 months ago

It's not that deep, my friend

by Anonymous 3 months ago

I agree. You're unable to think deeper than a simple analogy about pets. Now we know your threshold.

by Which-Country-5021 3 months ago

Hi sheetz!

by Elviebalistreri 3 months ago

Wawa superiority

by Anonymous 3 months ago

Why I like buccees: - plenty of pumps - ethanol free gas - plenty of parking - plenty of clean bathrooms - decent bbq sandwiches - good fudge, beef jerky, baked goods

by Anonymous 3 months ago

Clearly you havent tried the food. Name me another gas station that makes a ton of high quality food in house every day

by Anonymous 3 months ago

If you're going to gas stations for food, your opinion on the matter is moot lol

by Elviebalistreri 3 months ago

Yeah because choosing Wendy's or Burger King on your road trip just to avoid "going to gas stations for food" really makes you cultured

by Anonymous 3 months ago

No one said anything like this. Youre making up things to argue about.

by Elviebalistreri 3 months ago

It has clean bathrooms and good food.

by Anonymous 3 months ago

Rednecks? Its basically a travel center on the outskirts of big metro areas so you can get gas and food before you enter the metro areas. The food is amazing too.

by Anonymous 3 months ago

It's absolutely insane. I've never understood it but then again, I'm not a 4th generation inbred with more fingers than teeth.

by Elviebalistreri 3 months ago

Making a lot of assumptions about a lot of people

by Anonymous 3 months ago

I live in south Texas and am surrounded by buccees. I feel I have a good enough sample size to make that assertion. Thank you for your concern.

by Elviebalistreri 3 months ago

"I'm right because I know"

by Anonymous 3 months ago

The irony in your argument is hilarious. You're also asserting that you're correct because you know more than me. I was simply pointing out that I love around a number of buccees so maybe i have more experience with this gas station informing my opinions.

by Elviebalistreri 3 months ago

I'm not arguing that I'm correct, I'm arguing that you're wrong. Unless you feel like revealing a study of inbred people in buccees, you have no ground to stand on beyond "I'm from Texas"

by Anonymous 3 months ago

Pretty defensive. How many teeth ya got? Lol

by Elviebalistreri 3 months ago

Wouldn't you like to know

by Anonymous 3 months ago

Really weird

by Anonymous 3 months ago

That I have no clue about. But I know the one in Daytona pays well above anyone in the area for similar jobs. They advertise their starting pay openly.

by No_Restaurant_7704 3 months ago

The selection of Beef jerky is unmatched.

by Gullible-Witness 3 months ago

Ok, but have you had their pickled garlic? It's worth the trip alone.

by Curtisgrimes 3 months ago

Well, yes it is. It's never been sold as anything but a gas station. It just happens to be giant sized. People like stuff like this, clearly. If I was to travel with the family and we came across one we'd be thrilled too.

by Anonymous 3 months ago

Sounds like somrone hasn't had beaver nuggets in milk

by Anonymous 3 months ago

So is whataburger, Valero, Texaco, etc. what's your point?

by Elviebalistreri 3 months ago

If OP never goes to Buccees again, it's a net positive for the world

by Live-Perspective 3 months ago

Lololol how so

by Elviebalistreri 3 months ago

They a good selection of Beef Jerky if that's your thing.

by Anonymous 3 months ago

"Aside from the food and snacks" -Self aware wolves

by Anonymous 3 months ago

It's just the best gas station. But yes. Congratulations on an unpopular opinion

by Left_Employee 3 months ago

I like visiting just for the absurdity. It's fun to kind of pretend that it's mana from heaven.

by Mauricepagac 3 months ago

Yea, but it's not a run of the mill gas station. From what I know about it, it reminds me a lot of Wawa

by Anonymous 3 months ago

It's a gas station with some beef jerky and molasses popcorn.

by Elviebalistreri 3 months ago

Texans man

by After_Medium 3 months ago

Buccees is hell disguised as a gas station

by Anonymous 3 months ago

Hahaha great way to describe it!

by Elviebalistreri 3 months ago

White trash bat signal, lol.

by Kooky-Ad1174 3 months ago

Lolol love it

by Elviebalistreri 3 months ago

It is an attraction for rural, white southern and midwestern people. That's it. I agree with you, it is just a gas station.

by Anonymous 3 months ago

Some semi decent sandwiches with a mascot basically

by mariloukonopels 3 months ago

Like if I was on a road trip and needed gas and saw that there was one coming up, I would go. I agree with that the gas station being a destination is weird. They opened one about an hour north of me that is between denver and ft collins, it's wild to me that people made the drive to check it out. I think the same about folks waiting in these insane lines for in n out when they opened here. It's just a fast food place.

by Durganjesse 3 months ago

Reading isn't your thing huh?

by Elviebalistreri 3 months ago

I mean, I understand going there once, due to the novelty. Are people going there multiple times?

by Anonymous 3 months ago

It's just part of the culture. I understand it although I agree with you.
