-31 Alcohol is not a "poison", amirite?

by justen40 2 months ago

It is classified as a group 1 carcinogen…. It's also one of the leading causes of preventable deaths year after year in the US. We haven't even begin discussing the ways it poisons people mentally, spiritually and emotionally.

One big distinction is that alcohol harms you even in small amounts, whereas water and sugar don't.

Two pints of vodka can kill. Noted.

You'd probably be okay if you pace yourself enough. (like maybe over a few days)

You would be guaranteed to be ok (in terms of negative effects of alcohol) if you didn't drink it at all

by edgar41 2 months ago

Yes it is ROFL!

Then what's alcohol poisoning ? Isn't that the equivalent to over dosing since you wanna call it a drug? No one ever said alcohol did something positive for them.

by Hungry_Falcon7727 2 months ago

it is poison, any dose is not healthy

This guy drinks, your whole organism is STRUGGLING to even try to digest Etanol, you are actively drinking something that your body cant consume

by Anonymous 2 months ago

I mean I think OP is wrong but our bodies definitely can consume it and have evolved to process it

by Anonymous 2 months ago

You can also consume and process drywall and wood chips but you're putting your body under distress. There's a growing body of research that suggests that even small amounts of alcohol are harmful.

by Substantial_Bee5646 2 months ago
