I don't think that's the case I just think people are incapable of seeing nuance in criticism Like anything from getting exposed as a pedophile to someone saying they don't care for you gets lumped in as "canceling" and stuff gets abstracted to the max Or on the other end people are incapable of reading into what people say when other things might be very directly implied, but because said person didn't speak those EXACT WORDS it's a lie
