+33 I don't get the appeal of watermelon, amirite?

by Anonymous 11 months ago

You're probably not eating ripe watermelon if you say it tastes "kinda bad". It should be lightly sweet. The texture isn't really changeable, so can't really do much about it.

Watermelon has a huge texture range. It can be crisp or rubbery

by Altruistic-Top 11 months ago

Isnt rubbery when its less fresh tho? I only get rubbery watermelon if its been in my fridge for awhile, not when i first get it

OP has tonsil stones

by Grimeslupe 11 months ago

Don't believe I even have tonsil stones (never mentioned by doctor at least)

by Anonymous 11 months ago

They can add a smell or flavor to certain foods that can be masked by others, intermittently

by Grimeslupe 11 months ago

It's like the cotton candy of fruit! You cray.

It is rich in vitamins and helps to keep children hydrated who tend to drink less water.

I'm with you on this one

by clintonbergnaum 11 months ago

Oh. My. God. I'm gonna go do that now, I just got a huge pack from Costco.

If you like Feta cheese try it with 🍉. You might change your mind.

Like most things nowadays, majority of watermelons (like tomatoes) are garbage. The right one, the right ripeness, is divine. How can you say no to wet n' crispy at the same time?

by Several-Tap9439 11 months ago

went to spain once and the watermelons there were easily 10 times tastier than the one home in sweden

by Anonymous 11 months ago

I actually agree. My sister LOVES watermelon. We always had it growing up during the summers. I just never really cared for it. I'd eat some here and there, but after my first few bites I was pretty much like "alright I'm done here, that's enough." I tried, but 🤷🏼‍♀️

by rhea14 11 months ago

It's great. Hydrating, easy to digest. I eat it a few times a week because I have chronic gastritis.

by Anonymous 11 months ago

That's not an opinion…

by alysha86 11 months ago

How old are you? The trend of "Seedless watermelons" taking over most of the market during past 2 decades has resulted in watermelons that are less appetizing than the average seeded ones many of us grew up with. So while seedless watermelons resemble the fruit that many of us enjoyed decades ago, they're not as good (like many other fruits out there now).

Watermelon with tajin is my fav summer snack

by gottliebgiovann 11 months ago

The appeal is that it tastes great.

by StrongRuin2644 11 months ago

Ops only had bad watermelon at McDonald's.

by Anonymous 11 months ago

I had it at picnics and stuff. Still sucked ass. Apple is goated fruit though. Also any berry

by Anonymous 11 months ago

Watermelon is way better homegrown than from a store, just like tomatoes.

by AnimatorAgreeable 11 months ago

Its delicious

by Street_Ocelot8635 11 months ago

Not a fan of melons except the ones my wife has... waiting on the kitchen counter. I think she bought honeydew.

by Rough_Ad6632 11 months ago

Not a fan of melons except the ones my wife has... Nononono we all see what you were going for there. Can't try to hide it.

by Anonymous 11 months ago

Have to agree. Tastes like dessert cucumber and I'm not here for it.

by Alisa75 11 months ago

OP, I agree with you. To me, watermelon is just that; it tastes like water. It's water if it had texture and I just find it so vile.

by Anonymous 11 months ago

Are you eating the rind? Which totally tastes like cucumber. That's all I can think .

by Anonymous 11 months ago

I'm with you. Actively bad texture, generally meh flavor. They look so cool, though, 10/10 visual design. Particularly cut into those signatures wedges. The flavor can be good, as evidenced by watermelon flavored candy. But idk if that's just synthetic watermelon, or if watermelon flavor just needs to be highly concentrated to be worth mentioning.

That's racist.
