People going 5-10 over are hardly a problem. It's people that weave and go 20 over that are a problem

I did indeed say "way over the speed the limit".

I bet you are the person that prevents people from passing or go the speed limit in the inside lane to make sure everyone complies with the laws.

but he neeeds to feel powerful and listened to.

Well it would be simpler to just mandate speed limiters in cars; and have huge penalties for speeding and/or bypassing the limiter. IDK why overpowered vehicles can be licensed to drive on public roads and it's only gotten worse. The number of 300+ hp cars just keeps going up.

Only if they equally punish people going too slow

I agree that speeding is terrible and requires increased enforcement. I disagree that continuous connectivity based surveillance is a solution.

I absolutely agree. Your freedom ends where it endangers others. Since people are obviously going to claim some privacy nonsense, as if the right to break the law needs to be protected for some reason, I'll just go with my usual recommendation: Let anybody buy a radargun/camera and catch their own speeders (and other violations like parking, etc); and mail them tickets just like people are already automatically mailed speeding tickets now. Except, I get half of the proceeds. The city gets the other half. Oh, and all tickets are income or wealth percentages, whichever is greater.
