+58 Excessive perfume, cologne, etc. is worse than body odor, amirite?

I feel like you're comparing extreme perfume to mild BO. Too much perfume is way more common, but when someone has HORRIBLE BO, it is nauseating.

Yea for the same level of intensity I will always take perfume over BO. Hell I take a mixture of soapy smells and too much Axe over a room full of sweaty students after PE.

Some people have never worked with BO so bad that multiple people involved the manager. I get that perfume can be overpowering and most jobs I've worked at have rules about fragrances. It gives people headaches, it sucks. But working daily with someone who stinks is worse. I'm sure it's a medical issue and I feel for them, but I shouldn't have my nostrils assaulted daily either.

Two girls walked by me in Walmart a while ago. The body odor was so strong that you smelled the stench in the next aisle. Body odor is the worst.

Well if you have hypersensitivities, BO is just a nuisance, but perfume will give me a headache, nausea and make me feel sick/short of breath for up to an hour.

my "entire face hurts" when someone's BO is stinking up the whole room lol. i get ur point but to say that excessive fragrances are worse than BO is so far fetched 😭 id much rather smell an annoying fragrance than a nasty stench

I work with a lot of indian people (men/women). At least 2 a year HR send memo overusing perfume/cologne. It is very unique experience when you are in elevator and there mix of body odor and perfume. Well hello my migraine, no coding for today.

AMEN.

This is entirely wrong, have you ever been in a room with someone who has rank BO? I'm literally retching thinking about it.

Yeah I do agree

Did you ever work in an enviroment, where unwashed people come for help/shelter...like months-no-bathing living on the streets or what not unwashed? Or with old people? I have...and let me tell you: I will ALWAYS "prefer" the perfume stink, than any other human like monster smell.

by Anonymous 8 months ago

I hate it when someone oversprays cheap perfume but I will chase any man or woman down in the street to find out what niche fragrance they're wearing. I've found some of my absolute favourite perfumes this way. You can smell the quality when it's an expensive frag haha. Admittedly, this is one of my special interests though. Anyone with BO I tend to move as far away as physically possible from.

I've always been sensitive to scents in deodorants. Luckily when I was a teenager I found an unscented brand that I could tolerate on myself. It's not as much of an issue for me now, but I find that scents often just layer over the BO making it worse in my opinion. As social creatures, we should be a bit nose blind to the natural scent of other people. I don't encounter that many people who stink. What happens if you are using excessive fragrance on yourself and in your home. You might start becoming nose blind to those chemicals and more sensitive to natural smells. I think that must have happened to some people who complain a lot about natural odors.

I can't stand the smell of any cologne. It already smells like BO to me but like the chemical warfare that burns your throat and nose version.

I'd rather smell BO than all these artificial scents. Lotions, shampoos, perfumes, etc.
