Eh I don't know. If the squirrel bit some random person minding their own business I would feel different. It bit one of the people separating it from its owner. I imagine it was a tense situation and I'd honestly be surprised if it didn't at least try to bite someone. If the person bitten had taken more precautions killing the squirrel probably wouldn't have been necessary.
