Open office with hotdesks suck. Give me my cubicle! amirite?

I've been working at an office for a couple years now, that has an open space. At first, that idea of an open space seemed really cool to me. Now I just wish I had my own private space.

It really can hinder workflow at times. Clearing the space every time might be something that neat folks love, but I find this to be distracting personally. I am not against common areas, but cubicle means going back and able to pick up where I left off while having some semblance of privacy.

Just be thankful you're "hot desking" instead of "hot racking".

Open space = noise (not the white noise kind) = distractions. Basically it sux. It is either as noisy as a train station (bad) or as silent as a tomb (also bad). No middle ground.

I don't think this is an unpopular opinion.

Now that many people experienced home office, I feel like an office will never measure up for me again. Now it's more like a gimmick to see your coworkers once in a while. I am happy that I'm free to choose, so I only show up on the monthly optional office friday with dinner and drinks afterwards.
