Common not even chocolate? You're right of course.
by ExpensivePhrase17341 week ago
Dark Chocolate? Nope.
by Anonymous1 week ago
Tbh swap chocolate for coffee and OPs argument works better. The percentage of people enjoying black coffee, espresso and similar kinds of coffee is probably way higher than people who prefer dark chocolate which isn't 'drowned in sugar, milk and other flavours'
by Anonymous1 week ago
I despise chocolate in every form, except the delicious fruit they waste to make that disgusting sugar wax.
by magnusebert1 week ago
Yeah that's just an oxymoron lol
by Anonymous1 week ago
Easy reply: some people crave sweetness, tis true, and some people live in the light also. But then again there are those of us few who live in the darkness and crave the bitter taste of a dark unsweetened brew.

Black coffee or no coffee.

DO YOU FOLKS LIKE COFFEE!!!
by Radiant_Poem_12011 week ago
Facts. It's like when people say Dark Chocolate tastes good. I think it taste like a chalky dirt ball, but people love that stuff.
by Anonymous1 week ago
I love dark chocolate. Regular chocolate tastes too sweet. Dark chocolate sort of offsets that sweet with a bitterness.

This is the answer. ☝️

Yep, definitely unpopular. Those 2 minutes each morning while I wait for my espresso machine to work its magic seem to take forever before I get that lovely drink waking up my tongue.

The only thing that makes me sad is that since starting ADHD medication a couple of years ago, now for sanity's sake my 8.30am coffee is now an 11.30am coffee. I miss that morning buzz but I also don't particularly feel a need to enter HyperTime.

Cause thats addicrion but you dont need it to function. It is good cause it helps you function and gives you a "fix". However you didnt drink it in the first place you wouldnt need it.

Ignoring an overproduction of lymphocytes is a pretty bad idea. If unchecked it eventually becomes full blown lymphoma.

Cause you have an ✨ADDICTION✨
by Upset-Fun1 week ago
Then why do people drink decaf?
by Anonymous1 week ago
Well, cause the OP says we're addicted. Most of my consumption is decaf. I get maybe 80 mg of caffeine in my morning espresso and all the rest of my day I do decaf cause I have such an ✨ADDICTION✨ ;)
by johnathan131 week ago
Never said that there are people who like coffe, my point is that most people dislike it qnd consume it cause of different reasons. For some it starts as a way to spend time with friends, for some it is to fit in more, for some it is so they can stay longer up and study. However all the actual "benefits" are from getting your fix. Sure it can help with your asthma and other things, however it is only cause drinking coffee affects your other body function that dealt with it normaly. So now in the state of addiction for them to function as they shpuld, you drink coffe and "i feel amazing, much better".

Congrats on an unpopular opinion!

First one ive seen in a while tbh. It's usually "Unpopular Opinion: Farts Smell Like Ass"
by Anonymous1 week ago
Just as spices and seasoning bring out the best in a dish, adding a little something to coffee transforms it from harsh to rich and satisfying. Imagine eating plain chicken. Does disliking plain chicken mean that chicken is bad? Are spices "hiding" the flavor of chicken? Also, people don't drink coffee solely for caffiene. Decaf coffee exists for a reason.
by Anonymous1 week ago
True, but those products are all about consistency. Every beer with the same label is supposed to be indistinguishable from the next. Coffee isn't like that. It carries wildly between bean type, age of the beans, and brew method. Op might only think this becuase he's only ever tried expired beans made in a dripper. I bet if you let random people who "don't like coffee" try a bunch of good quality, fresh ground beans using different brew methods.. I bet many of them would change their mind.

They don't deserve to have their minds changed.

A lot of people don't like unsweatened cocoa either, but you'd be hard pressed to argue that chocolate isn't broadly enjoyed.

Or cranberries. Awful demonic little berries without sugar.
by karianne371 week ago
I don't like the taste but it's a drug, so I don't care. And sure you can get caffeine in other ways, but coffee is pretty cheap (free at work and in my apartment building) and it's available everywhere.
by Worldly_Orchid1 week ago
Probably no one really enjoys the taste of beer either but it still feels glorious going down.

Daily reminder that preferences of taste are not an opinion 🙄

How are they not opinions?

An opinion can be changed. You cannot consciously change your taste buds

I drink coffee at home with 1 sugar (my pick is vittoria 15) however when I go out and get a nice coffee I don't have any sugar… I do like the taste of coffee and if it's good it doesn't need sweetener.

So, what tea did you like.

I drink my coffee black, strong with no sugar and love my morning espresso. Some people are just wimps. Mind you I'm an Australian and enjoy vegemite... I've derived a warped sense of satisfaction watching Americans try vegemite on youtube, so maybe there really is something wrong with me.

I am an owner of a coffee shop and I've had this unpopular opinion for years! I myself love the taste of coffee and drink at least 2 a day and then even in the late afternoon I'll have a decaf coffee for no other reason than the taste. However as a cafe owner the amount of "I can't function without my coffee" or "don't talk to me until I've had coffee" type people that add so many different things to the coffee has me convinced that a good 50% of the population only tell themselves they like coffee because it's "what adults drink". For an example I have a regular customer that comes in every morning and claims they are "obsessed with coffee" their order: an 18oz mocha with double the amount of chocolate, only a 1/4 shot of coffee with a shot of vanilla, and 4 sugars. No hate, and people like what they like, but I'm sorry you don't actually like coffee, you like ridiculously sweet hot chocolate with a tiny hint of coffee.
by Anonymous1 week ago
Cant speak for anyone besides myself but I love the taste of plain coffee but only if it's made well. Especially espresso. I drink an americano every morning and sometimes straight black coffee. I also like a latte or a mocha.
by Anonymous1 week ago
Coffee tastes good if you prepare it correctly. But I agree 90 percent of coffee, especially made in stores, is terrible. At home, I can bloom my coffee before brewing, and fresh ground pretty much eliminates the bitter tastes and releases a more chocolate floral taste
by Anonymous1 week ago
I like black coffee just as much as i like bitter tea. They're nice to sip on for a while and not just chug down immediately.

Most people on the road to the diabetes kingdom, everything must be sweet.
by Anonymous1 week ago
Most people don't really like the taste of chicken. If they did, why would they drown it in crispy breading and spices and sauces? Chicken by itself is bland and mushy and covered in feathers, but society has convinced us we need it to function

My life is so out of control. The housing market is trash, the economy is tanking, the US elected he who shall not be named, my landlord's about to kick us out, there's a restructuring at work, I have two chronic health conditions. I sleep 4 hours a night because of the stress. It is SO NICE to be able to go into a coffee shop and, for FIVE MINUTES, feel like I have some semblance of control over something. I may not be able to deal with the rest of my life, but the knowledge that I can walk into a Starbucks and get an iced, grande oat milk latte with 1 pump of toffee nut syrup and 1 pump of gingerbread is the ONLY THING that propels me forward through my godforsaken day. Leave me alone.
