No one should be expected to remember people's birthdays, amirite?

I started using the notifications and they're life-changing but still it happens that i just don't keep these things in mind I don't remember to add everyone or I'm too busy What kind of annoys me is the general expectation like the societal pressure to make it a big deal out of anniversaries. sure you can show someone love by memorizing things. i show people love by giving them food and listening to their problems and stuff. if someone happens to remember that's a nice gesture but if they don't no biggie. I cant help but feel like insisting on people thinking about you to that extend is a little self-centered. it's almost like a trap like "I'm not going to say anything and if you don't think about me I'm going to get mad"

I don't expect my friends to remember. But my immediate family? Yes. My husband doesn't even remember his own birthday half the time and he remembers mine.

Just add their birthday to their contact card in your phone. Offload your memory to the phone.

I'd say you remember your closest friends' birthdays. "If you cared you'd remember" while exaggerated is kinda true.

with technology, i expect people close to me to remember my birthday. i put everyone's birthday in their contact and it automatically goes on my phone calendar annually. it's not that hard. maybe you should work on memory retention
