Smoking looks icky, amirite?

Seems like you're lumping things together... I certainly think vaping looks ridiculous, sucking on a weird electronic box. Cigarettes, sure, may have an air of 'cheap', but I certainly wouldn't say that about the smoking of cigars or pipes... (I was also raised in a non-smoking household).

Smoking looks cool in the movies and TV, mainly because actors are good looking and there's a cinematographer who's job it is to make the scene look good. Real people actually smoking don't and you're right looks ichy AF. I think most people would agree with you.

Nah, smoking at a place like a concert or during a night of drinking is still cool. It's when you have people who have to leave the house in the dead of winter to put nicotine on their lungs that you cross over to the ick, oh or smoking menthols.

Smoking makes you look like you will die a not so great death one day to me. I service peoples homes daily and many of them elderly. Around 50-60 years old you can see that death is now a roommate, they're dragging an oxygen tank around, coughing and winded just to walk to the other room and some still rip butts inside. I quit 15 years ago and cannot imagine going back.

Smoking is a natural look intensifier. If you look cool, you'll look cooler smoking. If you look like a dork, you'll look dorkier. If you look excruciatingly bland and mediocre, you'll somehow look blander. There's also the matter of the context. Smoking outside the exit of a shopping mall all huddled up in the cold like a dog humping a football = not a great look.

It REALLY depends on how they smoke it. It can look really hot and cool, but 90% of people look like a balkan construction worker smoking. And especially those really thin cigarettes and those electric cigarettes(not vapes, but vape looks even worse) But if they can pull it off, it can look good.

I don't see how it can ever really look good. It doesn't matter how attractive or cool the person is otherwise, seeing them smoke would just detract from any of that.
