I think Beer is the greatest human invention along side coffee, amirite?
by Anonymous6 days ago
This isn't remotely unpopular
by Anonymous6 days ago
Isn't it the oldest recipe recorded?
by Anonymous6 days ago
Not exactly, but it is very closely tied with the recipe for bread, and the two are forever intertwined. Which makes sense because it is a way to use bread byproducts and preserve calories from bread making for longer term consumption.
by Anonymous6 days ago
Not sure if it's a joke, but I've heard a theory that bread was actually invented as a portable beer starter
by Anonymous6 days ago
And a theory that the process of making beer forced people to live in groups that led to towns then cities..
by Anonymous6 days ago
It is. and it was apparently by accident too. Though way back then it was sorta like a sludge then the way it is now.

Beer can not show you hentai at a moments notice.
by Horror-Ocelot78526 days ago
…? When did hentai come into the picture
by Anonymous6 days ago
I agree with your feelings about beer.
by NoAttempt6 days ago
My opinion is far more unpopular: I think beer is disgusting. I'd prefer to take a shot or two then drink Gatorade or Coke. Anything but that yeast water.
by Unhappy_Contract6 days ago
Couldn't agree more bruuther, cheers!!🍻🍻 Nectar of the Gods, as they say.
by Anonymous6 days ago
Isn't there a saint of beers? Also cheers 🍻
by Anonymous6 days ago
If I have to choose any alcohol, I would choose a glass of fresh beer 🍺
by Anonymous6 days ago
I had a college buddy who was convinced beer and alcohol were the reason civilization took root and flourished.
by Sufficient_Cycle6 days ago
Did your college buddy happen to teach at UC Davis?
by Anonymous6 days ago
Actually, I was wrong about beer. Fruits ferment naturally, hence discovered. Beer comes from cereals/grains and does not naturally ferment, therefore invented
by Anonymous6 days ago
I think beer tastes sour and musty so I would definitely have to disagree.
by Bricebosco6 days ago
Think MatPat would disagree
by Anonymous6 days ago
And it is finally winter warmer season! Much prefer a malty beer to a hoppy beer
by Anonymous6 days ago
You like coffee AND beer??? Damn, blazing hot take.
by Remote_Speech6 days ago
I like the way you think
by Anonymous6 days ago
My unpopular opinion is that beer is foul.
by SatisfactionTop6 days ago
Music does the same and doesn't kill people.
by Slight-Conflict-27826 days ago
coffee isn't an invention. It's a plant
by Anonymous6 days ago
Buuuut we did invent the ways to prepare it into the ever delicious black liquid we drink on a daily basis
by Anonymous6 days ago
Everything is better with beer .
by Anonymous6 days ago
Beer is good, but we celts perfected it when he invented whisky ;)
by Anonymous6 days ago
IIRC from world history in HS, alcohol(beer specifically) is a major reason why humans became sedentary and stayed sedentary in the first place. Had to grow the wheat/maize and then ferment it and then do it all over again when you drink it all.
by Anonymous6 days ago
Not even just that, beer / meade literally saved mankind, multiple times throughout history.
by Anonymous6 days ago
I dunno. Beet has caused a lot of problems.
by Anonymous6 days ago
Don't forget about pickles and mead! It's all about the fermentation
by Anonymous6 days ago
It brings people together for a good time. It also drives alcoholics to beat their families and drinking and driving is the leading cause of death for many demographics.
by Millerterrill6 days ago
Human civilization is founded upon beer.
by Anonymous6 days ago
Think the train may have been more important
by Sure-Narwhal6 days ago
Coolman110 was my moniker in school. Nice to meet a fellow Coolman.
by Unhappy_Contract6 days ago
Wait til you try coke
by Lorenzoflatley6 days ago
It can bring people together but it also ruins peoples lives. Just saying. Maybe penicillin is slightly better
by sally356 days ago
I like coffee but beer is disgusting to me and so is wine
by Anonymous6 days ago
You should see if you can find How Beer Saved the World. Or something like that. It was a History Channel Doc from like 2010. It's incredible. Fake history but the history in choose to believe
by Anonymous6 days ago
Not sure the greatest seeing it does more harm than good but it is an interesting one
by Anonymous6 days ago
That's fair.
by Anonymous6 days ago
Alcohol is such a powerful thing. I've legitimately had some of the best times of my life drunk, but it also ruins lives, destroys families, results in huge numbers of deaths, is dangerous in the immediate and long term. It's just so awful and yet so beautiful at the same time.

Great doesn't inherently mean good, at least traditionally. Hitler and Stalin did great things, but definitely not good things
