+43 For most people, bathing every day is excessive. amirite?

by Vivid-Soup8097 6 days ago

Not if you're sweating everyday it's not. Who the hell can fall asleep with swamp ass?

by Anonymous 6 days ago

Yeah this. At my old Walmart our air conditioning was pretty under-functional, to put it lightly, and in the summer months I'd come home absolutely drenched in sweat. There's no way I'm crawling into bed in that condition

by Anonymous 6 days ago

I'm very confused about the "at my old walmart" ... do you go there every day? I haven't been in a Walmart since the 90s. If it's so gross, shop somewhere else?

by Landenkulas 6 days ago

I'm a skinny japanese guy. I don't think I've gotten swamp ass once in my life lol we don't seem to sweat as much.

by Anonymous 6 days ago

Consider yourself lucky, you've probably managed to avoid the old batwing too. Kudos! You could probably skip a day or two.

Plot twist: the OP is a cat

by Worried_Vanilla 6 days ago

opinion from a person who lives in a cold climate?

by Lucky_Plankton1540 6 days ago

Your also not op

by Rosie04 6 days ago

Who wants to bet that people secretly complain about OP's odor every day?

by Brianneshields 6 days ago

I work in a filthy environment. No way am I coming home and sitting on my furniture or getting in my bed without washing the days dirt off. I also find that the hot water is relaxing after a stressful day.

by Worried-Judgment-115 6 days ago

Fully agree. It helps relax the sore muscles too

by Anonymous 6 days ago

I can't agree. I've spent too long on public transport and caught a whiff of far too many spicy armpits and various other pits to agree. That being said, your explanation is a good one, to a point. The naturals oils are essential l for dermatological health which includes the scalp of course. My counter is, humans adapt somewhat but more importantly society has changed too. Taking it to the extreme, I don't think most find it acceptable, in a shared space, for someone to claim being natural when they are stinking the carriage out. I said I can't agree but that's not an entirely accurate assessment. I don't think you're incorrect, I just don't agree with your correct. I can barely make sense of my own contradiction there.

by Anonymous 6 days ago

Is that .. true? We also didn't evolve eating sugary foods. To my understanding, teeth are not supposed to rot as easily as they do for most people nowadays.

by Anonymous 6 days ago

Yeah I don't about you mang, but I like my wife to smell and taste good, and vice versa.

by Fun-Traffic8734 6 days ago

There are more aggressive bacteria than what your body produces. Do not underestimate them or you're going to have a bad time

by Anonymous 6 days ago

Ew.

by Anonymous 6 days ago

If you don't live with heat and humidity sure.

by Anonymous 6 days ago

Lol

by Ok_Veterinarian 6 days ago

I use baby wipes every single time I use the restroom even if I'm at work or out in public

by Anonymous 6 days ago

If we didn't stink it would almost be weird.. imagine bathing your dog every day.. people would say you are crazy

by Anonymous 6 days ago

Humans are an advanced civilization, and personal hygiene is a basic part of living in society. Nobody wants to deal with body odor just because some people decide to skip basic hygiene. Comparing humans to dogs isn't really valid, if dogs were as intelligent as humans, they would probably clean themselves daily, too. Instead of defending poor hygiene, maybe focus on taking better care of yourself and being considerate of others. Also, it doesn't hurt to step away from the internet and engage with the real world a bit more.

by Ahmadkessler 6 days ago

Judging only by your profile alone, I think you could benefit from your own advice and step away from the internet for a bit.

Mr. Stinky

by Ahmadkessler 6 days ago

I think there are plenty of people who bathe daily that have healthy skin. And a bunch that don't bathe that have bad skin. Ionno man, you do you boo

by Ornery_Tap_2142 6 days ago

Darn. I'm still waiting for 'I hate x and anyone who likes it is lying' and 'teenage discovered nihilism today.'

by Anonymous 6 days ago

How often did humans evolve to bathe? Cats, for example, seem to lick themselves daily, albeit without soap.

by Top_Cardiologist 6 days ago

I'm sure it's better if you don't but I feel gross after a day and want to feel clean before bed

by Sufficient_Hotel 6 days ago

I live in a hot country

by Gideon31 6 days ago

i worked with an occ therapist for a while who said pits and (private) parts should generally be cleaned daily but otherwise if ur not super sweaty or stinky (or like, personally uncomfortable), every day or 2 is fine

by No-Ebb5795 6 days ago

Everyone has a different skin type, different sweating patterns and different jobs. We can't generalize bathing.

by Lanky_Necessary 6 days ago

Agree. Similarly clothes can be worn for longer than a day as well. The exception is of course if you've been sweating, doing dirty labour etc. But say your day consists of nothing intensive, it's not hot, your clothes are perfectly good to go another day IMO. No doubt this is where people will say, 'but eek, what about all those microscopic germs?'. Yeah those are gonna be on you no matter how much you wash. Better to accept it and realize going a second day will not kill you. If anything it's probably better on your immune system?

by Anonymous 6 days ago

this is not an unpopular opinion for a lot of my classmates in college

by champlinjules 6 days ago

I believe the body should be washed at least every morning or evening with alternating routines of washing hair and just rinsing it. Anything less and you gonna be a stinky bastard. Honestly good Unpopular Opinion
