Metal is microwave safe, it's just pointy or sharp metal that's bad

Good, because those are the kinds of metal objects that are the worst to ingest.

Exactly, a coin or a washer of food equipment is unlikely to spark

Iron isn't in the same form as normal iron you see, they have different compositions, you cannot eat tiny bits of commercial iron and call it a day.

Lol, iron in pure form can hardly exist since it oxidises so quickly. What you have in blood is iron ions and they won't set off metal detectors. Is carbon carbon? Last time I checked people weren't wearing graphite sticks around their fingers.

I guess you flunked chem, huh

Iron in food is in form of ferrous ions and there is no such thing as commercial iron. Iron is practically useless to us in a pure form and all the "metal stuff" is made out of steel, other alloys or other metals.

by Suitable-Cut3727 5 days ago

Not necessarily. There should be quite a specific arrangement for it to create currents in that metal, and for that current to arc onto the walls. Google some videos testing it, you'll see.

As long as there is enough moisture around the metal part, no it won't.

Lots of "microwave meals" have metal in their packaging. Microwave popcorn had metal in the bag. Metal can help to evenly heat your food.

Metal is only bad in a microwave if there's two parts within arcing range. Fe fork bad, but spoon is fine. Heck it's generally even recommended to have a spoon in water if you're heating it via the microwave. To prevent a superheated steam explosion the moment you touch the container.

Your microwave probably has screws inside of it, it's not the metal.

Hmmn... i sometimes forget a metal in my spoon, and nothing happens.

If there's metal in my food, it's because I was screaming too hard.
