The only people talking about being gifted as a child are ones with useless BA's, amirite?

This is so weirdly specific. I don't think I've ever heard an adult claim to be gifted as a child or claim to be a genius. This isn't really an popular or unpopular opinion, it's just a very specific opinion.

Or the people that supposedly cruised through highschool without ever needing to study, and complained that they had a very hard time or failed in college because they never learned how to study. Surely someone with a near genius IQ could figure out how to study in 4 years. Children figure it out themselves.

I was one of those weird "twice exceptional" kids who was simultaneously in gifted programs and in support programs - ended up with a BS and M.Phil in Med biotech. That a useless degree by your standards?

There are no useless degrees. Most jobs don't require a specific degree - they just require a degree, and most of the social elite have BAs.
