This is truly an unpopular opinion because most people don't know who Colin Stetson is! But I disagree. I think he's one of the all-time greats for solo saxophone performance. I also love that unlike so many other solo saxophonists - Hawkins, Rollins, Konitz, Brecker - he doesn't really come from a jazz background, which makes his sound so much more unique. He's closer to Anthony Braxton I think in terms of the effects he gets with his horn.
