I'd say definitely unpopular but I'm the same. I keep seeing people condemn athletes, artists and actors for what they've done outside of their work but this always felt strange to me. I honestly don't give a damn what else they do in their lives. I'm not a fan of their personality or high moral standards, I simply enjoy their work and the entertainment value it brings me. I actually think this is a bit of an issue with many public intellectuals. First they gain some fame in the mainstream, then their fans prop them up like crazy, they get full of themselves and start getting involved in debates about matters they know nothing about.
