-40 Bluesky is a hate filled extremists echo chamber. amirite?

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I didn't look for them. I searched certain terms and people to see what came up. The results were very skewed depending on what I looked for.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I didn't look for them. I searched certain terms ...so...you looked for them...

by Party-Treat 1 day ago

If searching for the names of people or certain terms is searching for extremism then I guess I did.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Can you tell us what these "certain terms" were?

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Damn bro, the search engine results were different based on what you looked for?

by dschamberger 1 day ago

I'm not sure if this is an unpopular opinion, or just more of the victimization-fetishism we've come to expect from the insane Right.

by Any-Reach 1 day ago

smells like the latter to me

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Yes cause X is the beacon of civil debate

by konopelskivergi 1 day ago

It doesn't pretend to be though...

by Hmckenzie 1 day ago

It literally pretends to be

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Based on what exactly? What makes you believe that twitter pretends to be a beacon for civil debate? I'm pretty sure they've made it quite clear it's a place where free speech is prioritized, nothing about civil debate.

by Hmckenzie 1 day ago

literal owner of Twitter: X is a global public town square let me know what else that's supposed to mean

by Anonymous 1 day ago

A place where everyone gets to have their voice heard...what about that statement has anything to do with being 'a beacon of civil debate'? Are you that dense? Twitter brands itself as a place for free speech, where you won't get banned for voicing an opinion that people disagree with. Obviously the public town square statement is referring to their desire to be a platform for free speech.

by Hmckenzie 1 day ago

And they want toxic conflict too at times apparently

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I'm not on Bluesky but all I hear from people irl are that its a much better place than X Are you sure you didn't just go on there and immediately get angry at some opinions you don't like?

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I have seen exactly zero hate on Bluesky since joining months ago. It's been a filled with nothing but positivity and people being kind to each other. It's felt like what social media was when it started and it's been glorious. Sorry your experience wasn't the same.

by QuietConsequence9962 1 day ago

TBF this is probably the strongest evidence you're in an echo chamber

by Anonymous 1 day ago

echo chamber is when people are civil 😁

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I'm pretty sure flat earthers are very civil with each other

by Anonymous 1 day ago

you must have perfect attendance at their meetings to know that

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Are you really pulling a "if you weren't there it didn't happen" right now?

by Anonymous 1 day ago

i don't know how you interpreted that, but either way, bringing up the civility of flat earthers as your first example was an interesting choice people are going to be civil in any gathering, otherwise the gathering wouldn't exist. claiming that civility is a sign of an echo chamber is like saying everyone in an echo chamber drinks water, so drinking water is the sign of an echo chamber. the only real measure of an echo chamber is how people with different opinions are treated. and I mean opinions, not ethics. there's a difference between Bobby being exiled for thinking the age of consent should be 12 vs Bobby being exiled cause he likes the Cowboys in an Eagles group chat.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

The civil argument kills me. Freedom to speak and argue or debate doesn't have to always be civil. X is full of far left and far right proving that - but that's ok. You don't have to read it, or respond to it, but it's there for everyone to review.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Or rather, Bluesky is years behind Twitter... in a good way, considering Bluesky supposedly operates just like Twitter did when people considered it good.

by connbrenden 1 day ago

Twitter was once considered good ?

by Inside_Ad4143 1 day ago

thats becuase cis is only used derogatorily except by close friends group who have transfriends.... and even then. so i see why.

by Mathew64 1 day ago

How is a factual descriptive term derogatory?

by Anonymous 1 day ago

The same way as calling someone fat can be, duh.

by Alternative-Way 1 day ago

how is calling anyone a descriptive term derogatory? would you like to explore how c:?

by Mathew64 1 day ago

It was a genuine question but be snarky I guess.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

by Aileen02 1 day ago

X does not allow it for everyone.

by Positive-Curve 1 day ago

BS is off to a terrible start, aside from the unofficial ‘no dissenting voices' policy, it's riddled with CSAM.

by Anonymous 1 day ago
