+37 If you are not serious about eating the leftovers, don't ask for them to be boxed up at the restaurant. amirite?

They paid for it. Its legally theirs

I don't know I'm not going to eat those leftovers until I don't eat them.

Having leftovers boxed is virtue signaling? I just think people don't plan out that far ahead and other things come up that prevent you from eating it. If you really have a food item in your fridge for for weeks to the point where it rots then its not a leftovers problem anymore lol. That's just gross.

I always eat my leftovers. Most of the time I'm just waiting until my stomach can bear a little more after a few hours and then I'm filling myself to the point of bursting again. I just don't have the physical capacity to eat many American restaurant portions. If I didn't want it I wouldn't ask for it. Typically I'm finishing it the same or the next day. I can't remember the last time I let restaurant leftovers go longer than that. I can't be the only one like this so perhaps your sample size is just really small.

I think you've just met weird people. Literally everyone I know loves to eat restaurant leftovers.

What a person chooses to do with something they paid for is none of your business.

Sometimes I feel bad throwing food away so in my mind I take it with me just so I don't feel guilty

I usually take leftovers and gift them to family or a neighbour or like if I go out with my brother or cousins or something and my wife doesn't come I'll bring some back for her or order extra to have boxed up

Er, right maybe it's just me but I don't want your cast offs. I don't know anyone that does this either. To answer OPs question, we are not from the US so usually don't have leftovers to take home as our portions are smaller and more manageable. When I was in the US a few years ago, I hated taking leftovers because we couldn't really store that much in the hotel yet we found even the appetisers were massive. But first world problems really, when we did have the space, it was nice to know lunch or whatever was sorted

Interesting

Oh yeah not the eaten stuff, but like if it's like starter, main meal, dessert, and the main meal is like 3 things, like one of them. Agreed on second point, definitely depending on the woman, also the ideal force of sucking is dependant on the woman too I've found in my younger days.

Hmm all objections withdrawn then. You are a wise and generous fellow.

I always take my leftovers and also always eat it! I feel awkward asking for them to be boxed up though, feels like I'm inconveniencing the staff

You've gotta look at the food and the portions, then think of your schedule in the next 1-2 days, and figure out exactly when you're gonna eat it.

That's odd. Restaurants charge for those boxes. People just throwing away money.

by Anonymous 6 months ago

Who is charging you for your left overs? I've never seen a line item on the receipt for a to go box.

by Anonymous 6 months ago

It's possible only certain places do it. I've seen a small charge for the containers a couple of times. I don't recall where. I haven't been out to a restaurant since before covid.
