Yeah it's everywhere you go. You can't even go to the store to get vegetables without hearing it.

by Anonymous 6 months ago

I never understood why it starts playing before thanksgiving

by trudiefadel 6 months ago

Trust me everyone who works in stores that play it everyday through their whole shift agree with you.

I personally love Christmas carols (the religious kind, not Mariah Carey), if that counts. They're hauntingly beautiful for their melody and lyrics

I considerer Christmas music torture.

Don't get a job as a Christmas Elf lol 👍 This was basically my entire December x10

by emie80 6 months ago

Yah, November is way too early. It used to be December 1st but I even find that too early. I dunno, with all the stuff come out about how Christmas in particular is not a great time for so many people I find all this celebratory stuff kind of disrespectful to all of them. It's not like they can just avoid certain places because it is everywhere and just keeps coming out earlier and earlier.

There's about a handful of songs I like. Bruce Springsteen's Santa Claus is Coming to Town, loved it growing up, still love it. Last Christmas by Wham! That one Waitresses song. The 12 Pains of Christmas, always funny. That's about it.

Tis' the season to bring headphones everywhere you go, and put them on-- music on volume up-- before entering any store.

Christmas music is banging and I look forward to every December 1st so I can start playing it

by OrangeHungry6448 6 months ago

No other genre gets playtime like Christmas music. For 2 months straight (if not longer) it's in every public building. It's inescapable

by Anonymous 6 months ago

It's so harmless and benign. I don't understand how you get so upset by it

by Anonymous 6 months ago

So are the same non holiday songs you've been listening to for 30 years. Don't tell me u don't have playlists you've listened to a hundred 💯 times.

by Anonymous 6 months ago

Most other genres have to do something to progress or reinvent old tropes- Christmas music does not. You could play the worst possible pop song imaginable and if you make it about "santa" then companies will pay for it. Even the "classics" are usually the worst songs from the artists' discography, and I don't blame people for getting annoyed with these atrocious b sides getting played every year on repeat.

by Anonymous 6 months ago

They're annoying AF that's why

by huelschanel 6 months ago

Not everybody has great Christmas memories. It touches old nerves.

by kirsten94 6 months ago

By "harmless and benign" do you mean, "incessant, omnipresent and unavoidable"?

😩 my poor baby

by Anonymous 6 months ago

It's everywhere for a month or more and it's always the same songs. If you don't like them, it's being imposed on you quite a bit. I would actively avoid the mall when Christmas music started.

by Anonymous 6 months ago

Goodness some of you need to ease up. You're not a victim here lol.

by Anonymous 6 months ago

This may come as a surprise to you dude, but Christmas is far from a Christian holiday nowadays. Many people celebrate it as a cultural celebration, not a religious one.

by Dazzling-Cat802 6 months ago

"The onslaught" hahahah. Dude, take a break from being online. You're not a victim to the ooga booga scary Christian holiday music monster. It's not under your bed, and it's not hiding in your closet while you sleep. It does however see you when you're sleeping, and knows when you're awake.

Is it going in your mouth or ears? Sounds like you need to file a police report.

I remember being an edgy teen too

by OrangeHungry6448 6 months ago

It gives me the same feeling as having car sickness in the summer as a child, and you can smell and see a red, tartan fuzzy blanket! Yuk! Makes me wanna vomit! Not to mention the internal anger! I work in retail! Can you tell? 😂

by Head-Lavishness-9288 6 months ago

100% agree. The forced happiness makes me cringe

by Main_Firefighter4872 6 months ago

I'm right there with you. The same 20 songs over and over again. Every time I get in my wife's SUV, the first thing I have to do is change the station from nothing but christmas songs. Just went to a jazz concert last night with my wife with yet more Christmas music. The fun part was as soon as we got back in my car, the first song to play was a slipknot song followed by killswitch engage, calmed me down some. Yes, Mr Scrooge married to Mrs Claus.

This is not an unpopular opinion. Plenty of people hate Christmas music
