Then why travel?

To lie there and not worry about anything. Literally anything. You want a drink? Go to the open bar, want some food? Go to the food bar. Swim? Pool/sea. These all inclusive places are getaways from the real world (to me at least). Im not gonna pretend that going to one is the best way to travel, I love going around the country and living in that environment for a week or two, but sometimes one just needs to get away from everything, spend one big sum and not worry later about having to spend more (although usually they'll rope you into some activity or massage or another package but that's a discussion for another day lol

Weather and beaches in this case. All inclusive is designed to keep you within the resort as long as possible to sell you services that are not included.

You don't say

Of course. I don't think you're gonna get much disagreement there. I also think people don't always look to experience other countries during their vacations. Sometimes they just want to go somewhere where literally all they have to do all day long is relax. Their food, which isn't always mediocre, is cooked for them. Someone else cleans up the dishes afterwards. Someone makes up their room for them. Do they go home with a deeper understand of the country they were just in? Of course not. But do they go home refreshed? I think so.

Not sure this an unpopular opinion. I completely agree.

Disagree, went to Jamaica and had a phenomenal time. Resort was 8/10 with room service 24/7. Easily got my moneys worth with the "free" alcohol. Also you can always just leave the resort and have someone take you to many different places.

I think you're really missing their point, which is correct and not unpopular.

All inclusives are for going someplace warm and relaxing by the pool with no worries. They are not ment to expand your horizons or understanding of the rest of the world and its cultures.
