+32 Standardized IQ test should be required for every job application, regardless of the field, amirite?

by Educational_Put4997 6 months ago

Uhh, no. Do you know how you compare two candidates? You interview them.

You come off as one of those insecure people who brags about the score he reached on an online IQ test.

You're that guy who thinks that online quizzes are the way to pick employees huh?

This candidate scored 148 on his IQ test, but we have to reject him because he's a Hufflepuff

businesses want the stupidest cheapest people they can find

Low IQ means a candidate is stupid. High IQ means the candidate is not stupid. Not being stupid is necessary, but not sufficient. The candidate would still need to pass screening and interviews. A stupid candidate won't be able to do that, hence IQ test does not add any value.

If you look at it as black and white as you've presented then it does help by weeding out the stupid candidates so you don't waste time interviewing them. I mean thats the logical conclusion to your statement.

Low IQ candidates will be filtered out at the screening stage. If job description requires a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, requiring IQ of 100 is not going to change the selection at all. Wasting resources on requiring all applicants to take an IQ test that is not improving the selection process in any way is a waste of resources.

Okay by your logic if we have to compare multiple people applying for a more physical exhausting job we should take the one with the highest IQ and not the one that is the physical fittest. Makes total sense...

Did you ever take a test in your life? It doesn't at all prove proficiency, it just proves that you successfully managed to remember the information you crammed the night before. Passed the test? Congrats, you can now forget all of it. I dare you to ask 50% of license holders to successfully 3 point parallel park with no preptime.
