+27 The Barbie movie sucks. amirite?

Well wait a minute, you don't exactly get to make your own rules. You still have to be part of a society.

Lost me at the end there. Not that I disagree but we should keep making movies, if that's what gets people out there moving the economy, it's ok.

I feel like it was trying to teach 3 different lessons, but didn't commit to any of them

by TastyScore9262 2 days ago

I concur. I didn't like this movie at all

by rethacorkery 2 days ago

It was produced by a multinational company, led mostly by men, as a grossly cynical attempt to create revenue and relevance for a faded toy brand that had become associated with sexist ideas. And it worked.

Dude...Barbie is a career woman. How is that sexist? I played with Barbies as a kid and guess what? I wasn't scarred from it. I actually have some great memories playing with Barbies as do a lot of other women. There are many sexist things that go on in the world. This is not one of them. People that complain about this obviously have never experienced actual serious misogyny.

Thank you

this isn't even an unpopular opinion, you are just complaining

by Anonymous 2 days ago

You clearly have not met the majority of women in the world and are seeing this only from a very privileged (probably white) viewpoint. Even I as a man found its message relevant and interesting, even though it wasn't aimed at me

by Lorenzkoch 2 days ago

Sir, this is a Barbie movie

by Cultural_Let284 2 days ago

Yeah it was mid

by Anonymous 2 days ago

I watched it and I hated that it portrayed men as women's enemy. I hate that crap, we should be able to live in unison

by Anonymous 2 days ago

I could not even grasp the lessons that the movie was trying to make. It constantly contradicted itself and everyone it in acted like a massive jerk. But OP, be careful, I have had people really snap at me for saying it is a bad movie lol. No idea why, but some people worship that slop.

by mariela45 2 days ago

It was horrid

by Anonymous 2 days ago

You would be surprised how many woman have an "old ways" of thinking and mentality. But regardless of the message of the movie. It's a good movie nonetheless. All metrics tell us so as well.

by Ok_Cover 2 days ago

I never finished it, so i can't say for sure, but what i saw I didn't really care for, but i also didn't really care for Oppenheimer. So there's that

by Anonymous 2 days ago

Don't think this qualifies as an unpopular opinion, literally everyone I know who's seen it said it was one of the worst movies they've ever seen

by Urbankeeling 2 days ago

Ryan Gosling was hilarious. The rest of the actors not so much.

by Rich-Shock2467 2 days ago

I tried watching it twice and never got passed the 'Barbie world' right at the start of the movie either times.

helping free the women in the middle east how? their governments dont care, and invasions have NEVER worked...

I enjoyed it. But I have not watched it since. I enjoy dressing up, I enjoyed going with friends, and I enjoyed the sort of nostalgic Bondi shared with people. But, after the movie was done and I went home, I really can't remember much of the movie. There were some funny clips, but you could've just watched the funny clips and been done with it.

by Easy_Photo_6450 2 days ago

I can also tell you that it did not feel as a movie. It felt like a bunch of people were acting stupid on camera

by TemporaryMagazine 2 days ago

It was sloppy and disappointing. It had good parts to it, yes. But overall, not the 100/10 people have been treating it.

by emile69 2 days ago

Valid points and feelings, but it's still very funny. It doesn't suck.

by Anonymous 2 days ago

God forbid movies be made while people are suffering

by wittingadelle 2 days ago

Yes it was 90s level comedy crap. Will Ferrell was the tell
