I hate hardwood floors, amirite?

Hardwood floors plus some good big rugs is the way to go. Easier to clean hardwood and rugs than it is to clean carpet. My current apartment is 85% carpet and I despise it. I also grew up in SEA where the norm was tile flooring everywhere. I'd still sooner have that over carpet.

Carpets are disgusting no matter how often you "clean" them, it may look clean but it most certainly isn't.

Yeah wood floors are great, in anyone's home that wants them, but mine. The noise and cold yep, and they will never stay totally flat-neglect and time will ruin them quicker than a well maintained carpet

As someone with lots of animals, carpets are just not for me. I don't know about hardwood, but I do prefer hard floors throughout a house for simple clean up. Area rugs can be used to soften the floor and dampen sounds, and can be washed way more easily.
