+58 The color of the dress of anyone at a wedding shouldn't be as big of a deal as people make it out to be, amirite?

Ok, thats you. Is it a major inconvience for other guests to not wear a white dress at someone elses wedding? When its the expectation, and someone does it, it screams look at me I am also important.

I agree in principle, but because it's already ingrained to be seen as super disrespectful, obviously brides aren't going to be happy about it, and they shouldn't be, it's a well known disrespectful action

Agreed. It shouldn't be that big of an obstacle for a guest to go one day without wearing a white dress. That said, it's not about dress color so much as it is about disrespect and unkindness. It's almost certainly done on purpose to upstage or upset the bride. It isn't that hard to make a minor gesture to show kindness to a friend or family member on an important occasion.

People disrespecting you is usually a big deal, especially at special life events.

See that's the thing, I don't see it as disrespectful. I don't see it as someone trying to upstage, nothing. I don't see the issue at all
