+33 I can't accept the work or starve structure of our world. amirite?

by giovannynolan 6 months ago

The alternative is what? Starve and die? Even in non capitalistic societies people have to work to survive. But let's go to the extreme where socialism works the way it's intended. Someone has to work so you don't have to work and not starve. Wouldn't that mean you're exploiting their desire not to work but having to so you wouldn't starve. I hate this all too and god I would love to not have to work. But I'm not built for living in the woods and living off hunted food and what I can gather from nature. Not many are anymore

by Anonymous 6 months ago

Yeah.... I mean look what happened and does happen in all of those many socialist countries where people can simply choose not to work. You know the ones... ;)

by Anonymous 6 months ago

To be fair: I don't think socialist societies are typically evolving around the freedom to not work. It's just differently packaged.

by Anonymous 6 months ago

I would gladly leech off and exploit people if I was given the chance, can't care less about people's feelings. Call me a psychopat, idc. And yeah, I am also not built to live in the woods, so I'll probably starve. I'm not against capitalism and I am not pro-socialist, I hate everything equally because there is work involved.

by giovannynolan 6 months ago

Requirements for welfare have become increasingly strict in most countries, and they often include some kind of activity from the recipient.

by Anonymous 6 months ago

First of all, everything you just described is work, just a different type of work. You just find it more interesting than working a usual job. Second, nobody requires you to like work. You just have to do it in order to have the benefits of being able to pay your bills and live on your own. So it's a balancing act.

by Anonymous 6 months ago

Then starve and pass away as per nature

by babyfay 6 months ago

Probably that is going to happen.

by giovannynolan 6 months ago

I am extremely lazy, I am beyond your comprehension 🤓

by Zelmalegros 6 months ago

I don't want to be a brainless zombie in work. Why do you assume that work means you'll be turned into a brainless zombie? You don't have to turn your brain off just because you go to work.

by Anonymous 6 months ago

What could possibly be smart about withering away through complete apathy? We get this life, and hopefully our health, but neither of them lasts forever. It's not going to get better than this by itself. You need to provide for yourself at least. What you want is irrelevant. Nobody wants to work but we do to provide for ourselves and those we love.

by Both-Juggernaut-3145 6 months ago

Probably...

by giovannynolan 6 months ago

OK fair enough, you can choose to starve. Every living animal on earth has to accept the work or starve structure. I am unaware of any animal that gets a free ride.

by Anonymous 6 months ago

Yeah I hate it when my dog refuse to pay his bill.

by Anonymous 6 months ago

Your dog consistently acts a role in your life that you have deemed sufficient to receive food.

by ressie31 6 months ago

I'll never be able to accept it, even if that means I'll starve.

by giovannynolan 6 months ago

You could spend you time dumpster diving instead and still eat, it'll just be dumpster food. I'm not even joking. So much food waste is something I can't stand, I'm sure most agree it sucks ti see so much perfectly good food being thrown away, so why not go from store to store and get anything salvageable? That won't pay your other bills though

by Far-Recognition-5340 6 months ago

I guess, but it's not like the first trashcan is going to have edible food. I would have to search hundreds, which is shiftwork at that point. So I rather wouldn't. Also these trashcans next to supermarkets are already claimed by homeless bands, if I go there i will be just stabbed.

by giovannynolan 6 months ago

If you're determined to have a bad time, you're gonna have a bad time. Honestly, changing the way you think would benefit you and anyone else with a constant negative outlook.

by Far-Recognition-5340 6 months ago

I'm never going to change my views. That would mean be a brainless wage-slave. Nuh-uh.

by giovannynolan 6 months ago

Sounds like laziness

by Anonymous 6 months ago

Oddly enough, I feel the exact same way about working my ass off to support lazy people who don't want to work.

by Julia15 6 months ago

Right? OP literally said they would gladly leech off other people and is glad when others have the same mindset. If everyone just leeches, who is going to do the work so others can be lazy? This is some next level selfish entitlement.

by Anonymous 6 months ago

Not to be rude, just asking a serious question: What difference does it make if you do or don't accept this?

by Kaycee22 6 months ago

If I accept it there is a higher chance that I will bow before mother nature and I will go to work just to survive. Since I don't accept it, the higher chance is that I starve anyway.

by giovannynolan 6 months ago

Do you intend to not work and just starve?

by Kaycee22 6 months ago

You can grow a garden and hunt

by ebernier 6 months ago

I don't think you can. Unless in real remote places and with a home gifted. But even then you gotta pay property taxes, electricity and such.

by External_Speaker8403 6 months ago

The guy hates nature dont see him gardening or hunting loll

by Anonymous 6 months ago

That would count as working, apparently.

by Anonymous 6 months ago

Right. So what's the plan?

by Anonymous 6 months ago

No plan, since I'm a coward to take my own life. I'll probably starve.

by giovannynolan 6 months ago

Its litteral nature. If a lioness doesn't hunt (work) she and her cubs will die off. Humans are no different. We need to work to survive. Now is 40 hours per week in a cubical the answer? Probably not.

by Aratke 6 months ago

That still changes nothing about the fact that if you don't work, you will starve.

by Aratke 6 months ago

Can't accept nature. Not at all. Can't care less about nature.

by giovannynolan 6 months ago

I mean, you can go rummaging through trashcans, I guess.

by Anonymous 6 months ago

I guess, but it's not like the first trashcan is going to have edible food. I would have to search hundreds, which is shiftwork at that point. So I rather wouldn't.

by giovannynolan 6 months ago

Need someone to pre-chew it as well so your jaw doesn't get tired?

by Anonymous 6 months ago

Nah, just bringing me the food is enough.

by giovannynolan 6 months ago

What do you want to do in life then? How do you want to spend your time? If you have something you love, figure out the way to make money out of it, thus you won't work, just have fun and survive on that.

by EmergencyHefty 6 months ago

There obviously is a huge market for streaming, as well as for travel blogs. Understanding how you can capitalise on your hobbies and make money doing them is how you can win life.

by EmergencyHefty 6 months ago

Good to see others like me. I am just a bit more extreme, to me, work itsself is also bad.

by giovannynolan 6 months ago

If you had to chose to live now or 3000 years ago, what would you chose? Or now and 600 years ago? Or now and 110 years ago? Now is the easiest time for humanity (on average) . You can perform simple tasks and get safety, shelter, warmth, food and a lot of luxurys in return. I live in a country where people don't have to work. You can fake having a weak/painful back and you can sit at home and collect government money to live by. Which makes live more expensive for everyone else. People feeling okay by being such burden to society is very selfish.

by External_Speaker8403 6 months ago

They wouldn't choose any other time period, look at what they do like to do, it's all YouTube and streaming and chatrooms. It sounds like they just wish they were a trustfund baby.

by Anonymous 6 months ago

We are in the world you're imagining compared to how people had to work 100 or 200 years ago.

by Anonymous 6 months ago

You are the master of your life. Do what you wanna do

by Any-Character-8359 6 months ago

It's really not that difficult.

by Used_Cantaloupe 6 months ago

All of this feels like you have a very apathetic approach to life and anyone with half a mind would consider this a cry for help.

by Anonymous 6 months ago

OK. Don't.

by Korylittle 6 months ago

You're welcome to starve out.

by ycorkery 6 months ago

OP look into anarchism, you'll find a lot of others unwilling to accept it

by That-Society 6 months ago

To not work for money to buy food... you must work to GROW it, or hunt it. To not work for money for running water, you must work to collect it... I could continue; but the idea is that work is a must no matter what. Just depends what kind of work you want.

by OkRelationship6327 6 months ago

You should have been born rich in that case, blame your parents

by Anonymous 6 months ago

No. I think it's a good thing. The problem is that right now it's Work and starve
