Arianna Grande is an awful actor. amirite?

I was surprisingly impressed with her in Wicked. I was very concerned when she was cast, but she actually pulled it off.

This isn't even an opinion? Glindas character is a socialite who is aware of her own privilege and constantly fights her own conscious to maintain her image and therefore, privilege. Ariana* executed that flawlessly and it radiates throughout wicked. Now you can dislike her acting style but it's quality isn't up for debate

Unironically hard agree. I view Ariana in Wicked in the same way that I view Eminem in 8 Mile, they're great in their respective movies because they're essentially playing...themselves, it's the perfect role for them. She can sing, and rather well, but she can't act. Yes, in the instance of Eminem it was LITERALLY himself. But the character Ariana plays has the same bubbly bubbly charisma that she often attempts to put forward.

Ariana is an amazing singer, with a wide range. But she hardly lets it show. And her acting.... Yeah. Ironically enough I was interested in her as Galinda and was so disappointed when the singing was the worst part. It hurts more cause the dancing , the colors, the sets were all fantastic.

yeah, i love her singing in wicked its pretty great. i saw a video of arianna performing "we can't be friends" in this kind of lower kind of range and its honestly so beautiful and i like it a lot more than the original vocal range she used in the video
