-35 The Sound of Rain Isn't Calming, amirite?

by Anonymous 17 hours ago

The sound of rain hits different under an aluminum roof. That's sleepy time music.

by Waino41 17 hours ago

Oh man, the worst. Like a million nuts falling off a tree and hitting the roof.

by Anonymous 16 hours ago

That I get. Hate rain on an aluminum roof. WAY too loud. I prefer soft rain.

by Upstairs_Nebula 16 hours ago

I get where you're coming from, but I think you're in the minority here. For most people, the sound of rain is like nature's lullaby. It's all about that steady, predictable pattern that just zones you out and helps a lot of us relax or even sleep better. Maybe it's just not your type of white noise, but for a lot of folks, it's a total stress-buster.

"Predictable" What you smokin?

by Anonymous 16 hours ago

yep, it's an "unpopular opinion" for sure!

by Anonymous 15 hours ago

Mf I'm just trying to be kind. Getting on my nerves.

by Anonymous 15 hours ago

my dog agrees with you

by Anonymous 15 hours ago

I think the appeal is the idea of how youre safe and warm and cozy indoors as it pours outside. It induces max comfort. Maybe it does something to the ooga pooga part of us, feeling safe in our caves.

by Open_Guidance 15 hours ago

Funny you say that it feels safe. Statistically more break-ins happen when it's raining.

Citation?

I love the sound of a hard rain. Sounds like bacon frying.

by Alternative_Plate 14 hours ago

You're welcome! I love bacon and rain. 🐖

by Alternative_Plate 14 hours ago

Rain is awesome

by Anonymous 14 hours ago

Same. I hate rain. It was actually odd to learn that other people even liked rain at all! I spent my childhood living down a dirt driveway. Rain would turn it into a slush because it was not ON the ground, it was dug OUT of the ground, so there was elevated ground on either side that would drain ON TO the road. Cars would get stuck, my old man would get furious... Even though he made the driveway. 0/10. Would not recommend.

Must suck for you

by Wrong_Marzipan_9830 14 hours ago

Right! I'd say it's a geographical unpopular opinion but my friends and family nearby all love it, lol.

by Anonymous 14 hours ago

I live in South East Asia, The rain here is heavy half of the time. I had to close all the doors, constantly checking here and there in case the drain pipe puked back the dirty water... but I still found it calming somehow, the smell, almost no other sound beside the rain drop. It creates a "sound barrier" which separates my world to others.

Interesting!

by Anonymous 13 hours ago

Do it! Maybe the insanity will teleport you to another dimension.

by Anonymous 13 hours ago

So you also don't like the sound of rain, because you try to mute it down with fans and tvs

by Anonymous 12 hours ago

lol

by Anonymous 12 hours ago

My bed is by a window for a reason

by Anonymous 11 hours ago

Okay, then why use fans (just as noise) and tv, if you enjoy the sound of rain?

by Anonymous 11 hours ago

Honestly, I didn't get why people liked rain until I stayed in an apartment where I couldn't hear anything up on the roof. Coming back to a house afterwards was what made me realize it's kinda nice.

by Anonymous 11 hours ago

That's pretty fascinating.

by Anonymous 11 hours ago

rain's ok for me but what i HATE is the sound of running water like those "relaxing" little fountains that people have, sometimes as noise machines it's like torture

by PerfectAnxiety4992 11 hours ago

Also not a fan! Trickling water or a leaky faucet... 😬

by Anonymous 11 hours ago

This guy also hates the cool side of a pillow

by Anonymous 11 hours ago

It depends what it's hitting. Tiles are annoying, tin roofs are great.

Here me out Hearing the rain in the car while driving with no music is better than music

by Virtual-Physics5818 10 hours ago

Rain sounds are much more calming than snoring.
