I wouldn't say that you're the only one who thinks this. However, in my opinion my pets are better than most of the people I run into. Pets are innocent and don't have the same moral struggles or the ability to make the same mistakes that often come with human relationships. They're unconditional lovers who don't hold grudges. The same cannot be said for humans.

So true, the world is a lonely place human to human wise because of all of the reasons you just listed. So when you do have an animal that shows you unconditional love and is always there for you, they're more significant than almost all the humans you know, so why wouldn't they get treated as such.

Exactly. And this isn't to say that humans are less than. I'm just saying, people can be unpredictable. My dogs offer me a kind of comfort that's easy for me to understand. There's no question in whether or not they love me. I know they're always here for me. It's a breath of fresh air compared to the complicated emotions and problems that I experience with most people. Pets aren't capable of intentionally causing harm because as I mentioned earlier, they don't have the same emotional complexity as humans. So yeah, when I have something that gives me unconditional love(like you mentioned) and doesn't cause me any pain, they do get treated better because they are in that sense.

Treating an animal like a human and placing a bigger value on an animal than on a human are two different things The first is wrong, you need to treat the animal for the type of animal they are, a dog would be confused if you acted like they were human since they have different needs/body language etc Valuing an animal above a human is not wrong, its rather arrogant and self important to think humans should automatically be placed above animals Humans are animals aswell, why would we be automatically be above the rest We certainly dont get to decide for other humans who they love/value the most
