Fist bump is superior to a high five for the casual "sup dude." High five is open palm, elementary school, someone didn't wash their hands nonsense. Hand shakes show that neither person is holding a weapon, and you can tell everything you need to know about someone based on it. Hand shake is superior. Fist bump is pretty chill. High five is chill if huge victory, or ironic, but a little sketch if you're not a child.

I don't see why we have to touch each other at all. All my life I was a hugger, handshaker, kisser, etc. Since the pandemic, I realize that saying hello is sufficient. Tbh, most of us see high fives as cringy and childish. "Hey let's line up our hands perfectly and slap them together. If the sound isn't satisfactory enough I'm going to make you do it again." If you're going out of your way to give a high five, you're probably a little extra.
