-45 We need Olympic medals for PB, amirite?

by Anonymous 4 days ago

PBs are about competing with yourself. Give yourself a medal if you want. The Olympics are about competing with others.

Fair point but it's generally frowned upon to give yourself a medal lol

But when you are only competing with yourself, you deserve it.

I think all participants at the Olympics already get a commemorative plaque. My banker has one in his office from some Olympics he participated in in the 70's.

by Anonymous 3 days ago

That's nice but doesn't honor them enough IMHO

Getting to participate in the Olympics is a huge honor in and of itself. They don't need extra. Adding extra will only cheapen it

The largest reward for participating in the Olympics is the memory of competing in the Olympics.

You know what hell yeah! Everyone in an Olympic event who gets their personal best should be celebrated even if they didn't place on the podium

by Anonymous 3 days ago

They should have a big party style announcement for all of them, like a graduation ceremony vibe

by Ok_Hall_2595 3 days ago

Yes!!! I was picturing exactly this

by Anonymous 3 days ago

So what if I get a personal best outside of the Olympics? Can I get a medal if I prove I did it?

by Ill_Newt_9571 3 days ago

Participation award.

Jelly will feel left out

by Anonymous 3 days ago

Why are you limiting it to the Olympics?

by Odd-Republic 3 days ago

You mean like a participation trophy.

by Anonymous 3 days ago

So of they run the 100m once they get a trophy? It would be thier best time lol

by Anonymous 3 days ago

To qualify for the Olympics you would probably have to participate in official races over many years.

by Anonymous 3 days ago

How would they get to the Olympics without having already competed in the event?

by Anonymous 3 days ago

It wouldn't be an Olympic trophy till it was a Olympic event what they gonna do give me a prize for the time 5 years prior I did better in high school

by Anonymous 3 days ago

Are you drunk? To get to the Olympics, you must already have an official time recorded, and so you would have an existing PB. Therefore, just because you run at the Olympics, you would not automatically have run a PB. Oh, I see what's happened here... you've taken 'If someone has achieved their personal best time in the Olympics...' to mean that we're only considering their times at the Olympics. That's not what a PB is and not what OP meant.

I actually am alil and I was assuming by op saying pb in the Olympics that it meant in the Olympics
