People saying money doesn't bring happiness, that's a lie, amirite?
by Fantastic-Cable2 days ago
Nothing brings happiness. The only certainty is decay. But money fends off a lot of the bad stuff.
by Interesting_Term_382 days ago
This is the real unpopular opinion

Not if you're a philosophy grad
by SelectHovercraft22522 days ago
Forgot who said it but i heard it be said before "money doesn't buy happiness but everyone would love to find out for themselves".
by Timely-Albatross2 days ago
Money buys security and without the security of stable housing, food, and other necessities of life, it's a hell of a lot harder to be happy. I've always said that anyone who believe money doesn't buy happiness has never lived in poverty
by Anonymous2 days ago
It doesn't but I'd rather cry in my own home
by Anonymous2 days ago
More like money makes your life easier, but you can also easily lose them if not careful with managing them.
by molliehilpert2 days ago
The only people who say money doesnt bring happiness are people who have had money their whole life and have never gone without having alot of money.
by Fast-Lab25322 days ago
Money buys many cures for sadness.
by Anonymous2 days ago
This is the proper response to this misunderstanding
by Anonymous2 days ago
I agree, cause like of course your still going to be depressed and have bad feelings but I feel like the main reason why people are unhappy is because they have money problems and that makes them stressed out and worry and have those bad feelings. Like if you have money you don't have to worry and you can just relax in life. And go on vacations and give your family a good life.

It makes life sooooo much easier

Mae West once said, "I have been rich, I have been poor; rich is better". Frankly, she's not wrong.
by Training_Natural34542 days ago
Money doesn't buy happiness. Not having enough money to be stable brings stress and depression. Your friends, your hobbies, your love, your family. Those are what bring happiness.
by Anonymous2 days ago
Money does buy happiness though, because you're generally going to be happier knowing that you're no longer worrying about bills and such. You're less stressed for example and that is a big happiness booster.
by Allyosinski2 days ago
But I have a 12 bedroom sprawling mansion and an indoor pool and a $3000 haircut and I'm unhappy :)
by Afraid_Collection2 days ago
I don't know if it buys happiness, but I'd definitely rather cry in a Ferrari.
by Anonymous2 days ago
Money can't buy happiness, it buys security. Happiness comes from within. You can buy all the things you think you want in the world, and still be miserable.
by Deron732 days ago
You can throw money at a lot of problems so yeah it does.
by Anonymous2 days ago
You're half-right. The point of the expression is that money won't buy you things like a partner that actually loves you, kids that don't hate you. It won't actually fill the empty void in your chest that yearns for meaning. Also, the endless pursuit of money can mean you miss the good stuff. But money sure can make things easier and more enjoyable.
by Anonymous2 days ago
The way I see it, money doesn't buy happiness, but not having enough money can cause anxiety and depression. A person can have all the money in the world and still be a miserable person, but even the most good natured person is going to struggle to smile when they risk their lights getting shut off.

The life of the samurai is spent in honorable poverty, only in doing so are they rewarded.
by tess792 days ago
No, but it sure can rent it for a while.
by Anonymous2 days ago
It doesn't, it makes it easier to attain happiness though.
by Educational-Sky-1162 days ago
I just think of the biggest problems in my life right now and asked "could this be fixed with money?" and I concluded no.
by Anonymous2 days ago
I'm willing to conduct an experiment. Everyone! Give me your money! I will find out if this is true or not.
by Anonymous2 days ago
It can help a lot for sure. Money can bring satisfaction, options., and sometimes status. But it can't bring meaning, not deep meaning.
by Anonymous2 days ago
It all depends what your definition of happiness is. For some people, money doesn't equal happiness in a sense that they've found peace with their lives, jobs and way of living. Would it be cool to have more money? Sure, but for some people it wouldn't change how internally happy they are with themselves and their lives.
by Mferry2 days ago
Would you be more happy sitting in a Ferrari or on a rusty bike in the rain?
by Wooden-Body-16812 days ago
I don't want fancy cars, they are just a stupid way to show off. I prefer a nice house with a big garden and room for a big family.
by Fantastic-Cable2 days ago
Money brings happiness but not love
by Such-Falcon2 days ago
Of course, love is a different thing, it's about sharing giving offering, sacrificing one self for another, helping, aiding, about emotions and feelings about characters.
by Fantastic-Cable2 days ago
Thank you! Finally someone that agrees with my feelings on this.
by Visible_Hamster_50252 days ago
Because it's the truth, if it wasn't then nobody would want to be rich
by Fantastic-Cable2 days ago

Money buys you the ability to avoid or at least mitigate problems that get in the way of your happiness
by Anonymous2 days ago
Every way leads to happiness, calling it security, getting out of trouble, u name it
by Fantastic-Cable2 days ago
Money brings security, not happiness. Its a big difference.
by Anonymous2 days ago
If i feel secure i will be very happy though, so there u go
by Fantastic-Cable2 days ago
Can confirm.
by losinski2 days ago
It's the truth, just ppl are in denial because they are not rich
by Fantastic-Cable2 days ago
It doesn't bring happiness, but it staves off a lot of things that can make you unhappy.
by Shoddy-Specific2 days ago
So if it fence off things that will make you unhappy then actually it brings you happiness and protect your unhappiness
by Fantastic-Cable2 days ago
Money buys peace and comfort. Peace and comfort can buy happiness.
by Street-Dream2 days ago
Exactly, money buys peace and comfort then peace and comfort buys happiness
by Fantastic-Cable2 days ago
Money itself doesn't bring happiness. It's what you can do with it and not having to worry about bills that bring you happiness.
by Marquardthelen2 days ago
True. No arguements.
by Pretty-Mud2 days ago
Money buys free time and less stress which are conducive to happiness. Yet there are plenty of miserable rich people and happy poor people. Point of the phrase is that you have to decide to have a positive attitude with your circumstances no matter what.
by Jillianromaguer2 days ago
Money takes away a lot of the pain life has. It doesn't bring happiness, it fends off the anxiety, pain, and horrors or not having money.
by Ok-Layer2 days ago
I have been a poor man and I have now gotten to a point in my life where money is not an issue. I have a good career. I have a great partner and we have bought a house. The darkest period of my life came when I had more cash than I needed. So no money doesn't bring happiness.
by Anonymous1 day ago
Agree. It's what people say who have no money and/or no hope of ever having money.
