I don't think it's very common to literally scream into a pillow, but your thing about screaming generally, I'm there for. I've fantasized about screaming for decades, and I think the only time I have since I was a child was when my dementia-addled mother was choking my dog in the car as I drove. And I was too fixated on how much I wanted to murder her to enjoy it

Oh yeah, that was a bummer, my bad. I more meant that I actually fantasize about screaming, but I like live in a society, so it's not gonna happen in everyday life. And I'd feel like a weirdo driving out to a mountain or something and doing that, and that's a relatable point. I guess highways are an option

Not really an unpopular opinion. The whole reason that the "scream into a pillow" tip exists is because people are often too comfortable with screaming aloud (especially at other people) or hitting things that can break. Just check out the closet door in any CoD player's childhood bedroom lmao.
