I guess this is unpopular, because social media causes more harm than good, and we'd be better off without it at this point, but if most people really felt that way, the problem would solve itself
by Enrique322 days ago
Social media gives the illusion of community for most people. The minority have an actual community from it. I think it's bad for everyone's mental health, truly I believe that, but for some more than others

I wouldn't disagree with that. It's absolutely tanked peoples social skills in a way that may historically be documented as the primary reason for so many of the issues we have and will have.

"Live and let live" is practically a fringe belief these days.

So people shouldn't be interested in others, and people shouldn't put themselves out there for others to maybe be interested in. What exactly should people do?
by Anonymous2 days ago
You can't see a difference between showing an interest in others/putting yourself out there and being in someone's business/sharing every little detail about your life?
by gudrun202 days ago
That reminds me of the 1970s.
by New-Caterpillar-92692 days ago
Well said I've been thinking this for years. We share to much.

I'm still going to update my hairdresser!!

Besties don't count! Gotta update them π€£
by gudrun202 days ago
Bro, that's a wildass inference you made from OPs statement lmao
by Anonymous2 days ago
π you people have no idea what minding your business is, do you? It means "if you see something, DONT say something, DONT take interest in it, DONT think anything of it".
by Anonymous2 days ago
You're talking about being a bystander
by Anonymous2 days ago
i think OP meant like stay in your line and not to be nosy
by Anonymous2 days ago
Well yeah that's what point #2 is, which i agree with, and people being unnecessarily nosy is wrong, but people being nosy is a good thing a lot of times
by Anonymous2 days ago
no it isn't. i work with people who watch me constantly, asking passive agressive questions, which makes me withdraw even more. a lot of people need to focus on themselves more. i am not a threat to anyone, but that's how some folks treat me.
by Anonymous2 days ago
I'm referring more to people doing bad things that need to be pointed out. The holocaust happened because not enough people were nosy, and they "minded their business".
by Anonymous2 days ago
Well yeah when you say people should mind their own business, that's what I think of. I get the whole oversharing on social media thing but that has literally nothing to do with "minding your business"
by Anonymous1 day ago
Not at ALL what I meant by that in this situation. So π€·π»ββοΈ
by gudrun201 day ago
Then you have no idea what minding your business means π
by Anonymous1 day ago
Or maybe that's YOU βΊοΈ
by gudrun201 day ago
Hey, mind your own business lol, you're not allowed to talk to me
