+19 Dunkin' Donuts is the worst chain coffee/donut shop, amirite?

by Anonymous 2 weeks ago

Just playing devil's advocate, Starbucks and Dutch bros are known for their coffee drinks, and neither has a large donut selection (Starbucks might have one or two idk).

by Anonymous 2 weeks ago

This is true but you can't have donuts in the name and not have stellar donuts. I'd rather have Krispy Kreme or shipleys.

by Anonymous 2 weeks ago

They literally don't have "donuts" in the name. They rebranded at least 5 years ago to "Dunkin"....

by Anonymous 2 weeks ago

Yep. You pay for the consistency, not the coffee

by Anonymous 2 weeks ago

McDonald's coffee was/is cheap (no idea anymore, Nespresso ftw) but at least tastes respectable. I've had to straight up throw away Dunkin drinks and I hate wasting food. Don't even get me started on their breakfast food, how is it always soggy no matter how fresh it is, and always tastes like they haven't changed their grease in 37 months?

by Anonymous 2 weeks ago

My wife and I have been married 34 years. The only running argument we have is if Krispy Kreme is better than Dunkin Donuts. I can't imagine any sane person choosing DD.

by Anonymous 2 weeks ago

Wait, that's an argument? I don't know anyone who would ever say DD is better than Krispy Kreme assuming we're talking about donuts.

by ElkEnvironmental 2 weeks ago

I would take dd over kk any day of the week. I can't stand kk donuts. And I love dd coffee as well. For regular coffee, i go there over Starbucks

by Anonymous 2 weeks ago

To each their own I guess, DD easily has the worst donuts in the industry imo

by ElkEnvironmental 2 weeks ago

That's not an argument… that's putting up with nonsense. Krispy Kreme is better in every way

by Katheryn53 2 weeks ago

Krispy Kreme is crack.

by Anonymous 2 weeks ago

Ever been to a Tim Hortons in Ohio?

by Anagreen 2 weeks ago

Or anywhere

by Anonymous 2 weeks ago

It really depends on the location. Some franchisees cut more corners than others

by Obie79 2 weeks ago

It's pointless since they clearly don't give a damn about donuts anymore…

by Anonymous 2 weeks ago

It's almost like they literally dropped the "Donuts" from their name years ago and completely rebranded to "Dunkin".... This is like me referring to "X" as "Twitter" (which I always do and have never referred to it as X)... That said what I call "X" is irrelevant, it's still not Twitter and is very much X..

by Anonymous 2 weeks ago

Which is ironic considering the "donuts" was the best thing about them. Which is also ironic as the donuts were mid tier at best.

by ElkEnvironmental 2 weeks ago

I feel like you're taking us calling it Dunkin' Donuts, which is what it was called for almost 70 years, really personally.

by Anonymous 2 weeks ago

It's literally Dunkin, they rebranded like 5/6 years ago. I feel like you have an issue dealing with reality...What it was called 10 years ago is irrelevant to what it is currently.

by Anonymous 2 weeks ago

I don't care what they're called. They're still very low on the coffee and donuts chain.

by Anonymous 2 weeks ago

I'm in Texas and I live in an area that literally backs up to refineries and such, so I think that they last because the workers here want/need something quick and cheap. We quite literally have, on a singular street, on the SAME SIDE (slightly spread out, of course), a Shipleys, a Dunkin' Donuts, a Dutch Bros, a Sonic, and a Starbucks.

by Anonymous 2 weeks ago

This is supposed to be for unpopular opinions. Dunkin is trash.

by Anonymous 2 weeks ago

Every time I've ever gotten a drink from Dunkin, it has tasted like donut fryer oil. That includes whatever fruity juice or soda I ordered... Donuts were fine though. Standard fast food fare

by Silent_Transition 2 weeks ago

Agreed on the donuts. What's funny is that there's a gas station near me with self serve Dunkin and the donuts are soooo much better. Softer, fresher, and more flavorful. The coffee is better too, but I think that's just because I get to choose the coffee-to-syrup ratio myself. At the drive through I swear they give you a cup of syrup with a pump of coffee.

by heaven97 2 weeks ago

I will admit that the gas station coffee is a bit better. Idk what they're doing in shop but it ain't it.

by Anonymous 2 weeks ago

Dunkin Donuts has beautiful advertising and brand imagery but there is no consistency in their coffee between stores. They are also not my first choice for donuts. I go to Krispy Kreme.

by Anonymous 2 weeks ago

You've never been to a caribou coffee, have you?

by Anonymous 2 weeks ago

The only caribou we know about in Texas is the animals that are better known as reindeer. Lol

by Anonymous 2 weeks ago

lol gotcha. Next time you're in the Midwest, hit up a Caribou Coffee and see if that changes your opinion on the worst coffee chain in existence. Good grief everything in there is awful.

by Anonymous 2 weeks ago

I'd actually agree with this. Dunkin is trash but at least we can say it's cheap garbage. Caribou Coffee not only taste awful, it gives Starbucks a run for its money on how much they overcharge for coffee. I don't understand why anyone would go there.

by Anonymous 2 weeks ago

I'm down in Texas

by Anonymous 2 weeks ago

I wonder if you'd feel the same if you had them in NY or Boston. TBH though, I say that but I still don't think theyre nearly what they were 25+ years ago

by Anonymous 2 weeks ago

As someone that worked at dunkin for a long time, it's the people, not the coffee. The coffee is great, there is literally 0 to none training covered on how to actually make good coffee. I would make myself bombass coffees when I was there, but by default the recipes to follow are very sugar fronted. I loved moving up to bartender, because I can make far more personal discretion and tweak stuff to my palate. Ultimately, I care that the customer gets a good and consistent drink every time they order. Dunkin just isn't the format for that unfortunately. My recommendation to get the flavored stuff at the right proportions is to order everything with half pumps of syrup, and see how that goes and tweak your order. You may need to become a regular face there, and they'll just do it when they see you. We had lots of people where I'd start making their oddly specific order before they even ordered.

by Anonymous 2 weeks ago

You're putting a lot of energy into this.

by Anonymous 2 weeks ago

I'm not the one who's having a meltdown over the name of a restaurant.

by Anonymous 2 weeks ago

Babe. It's the name of a coffee shop, not your dead grandmother, it's not that big of a deal.

by Anonymous 2 weeks ago

I'm glad that I made you upset. Have a nice night now. πŸ–€πŸ˜˜

by Anonymous 2 weeks ago

Love you too Pookie πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ˜˜πŸ˜˜πŸ˜˜ Just ask me out alreadyπŸ™πŸ»πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™πŸ»

by Anonymous 2 weeks ago

YES YES YES πŸ’― πŸ’― πŸ’―

by Anonymous 2 weeks ago

It's mid. Starbucks has better coffee and Krispy Kreme has better donuts. Their breakfast is sandwiches are just ok.

by rathellen 2 weeks ago

I use to love Dunkin until I had better coffee lmfao.. it's trash for sure

by Anonymous 2 weeks ago

I swear theirs used to be better though

by Anonymous 2 weeks ago

They did, idk what happened, probably got even cheaper and changed the recipe

by Anonymous 2 weeks ago

I only go to dunkin donuts for their other stuff like their hash browns, wake up wraps, and sandwiches. They used to have grilled cheese that I liked, but idk what happened to it

by Anonymous 2 weeks ago

I like coffee in all its forms. Sometimes it's a delicate light roast espresso, sometimes though a tankard of weak black Dunkin' donuts coffee is the perfect choice.

by Lowellwitting 2 weeks ago

All these places are overpriced by alot.

by Anonymous 2 weeks ago

I remember when it first came to the west coast years ago. I was disappointed.

by OtherBox 2 weeks ago

Not a coffee drinker, but I prefer dunkin's donuts and sandwiches though. Better than what i tried from Krispy cream or starbucks. Krispy cream is overated as hell IMO. Will say the only donuts that are miles better than dunkin are old school mom and pop shops if you can find them. Dunking really feels like your local mass produced stuff at this point w/ zero personality, even thier seasonal stuff.

by Anonymous 2 weeks ago

Dunkin Donuts was better in the 90s imo lol even with the infinite cloud of cigarette smoke that hovered over that decade

by kirlinhassie 2 weeks ago

I mean they're not the best, your local bakery probably have better tasting donuts, but I don't think they're terrible, but the Dunkin' you go to matters too. They're cheap and convenient and they'll satisfy a mid day sugar or caffeine fix. But not the place I'll go for premium tasting donuts.

by Anonymous 2 weeks ago

Meanwhile Krispy Kreme has glazed donuts and that's pretty much it

by uquigley 2 weeks ago

I couldn't agree more. Dunkin is the definition of mediocrity.

by tiffany27 2 weeks ago

Donuts at Dunkin are not baked fresh anymore. Not for like 10 years. They're all thaw and serve now.

by wzieme 2 weeks ago

Fast food is not good. More at 11.

by Useful-Prize2243 2 weeks ago

Idk. Some of it is good.

by Anonymous 2 weeks ago

Dunks in the south ain't the same. I remember going to one in Mississippi that didn't even make iced coffee. They looked at us like we were crazy, lol. There are plenty up here that aren't so great, you learn where the best local ones are. I will say the quality of the donuts themselves overall has definitely fallen off.

by Zealousideal-Bus6327 2 weeks ago

Say what you want about dunkin donuts but leave their amazing Boston creme donut out of it😑

by Serious_Score_2343 2 weeks ago

Lol, have you tried Tim Hortons? I can't fathom a coffee chain being worse.

by Anonymous 2 weeks ago

Stale donuts. Nope
