Season 3 of The White lotus doesn't have an actual plot. amirite?

There is merit to what you say. There is a plotline, I mean I can make one out if I squint, but it's taking it's sweet time developing.

It has just as much of a plot line as the other seasons, the characters not played by Walton Goggins just aren't as interesting as characters from previous seasons. They literally just used the same formula as seasons 1-2. Start with a death, cut back to a few weeks later, and then show how the death came about while showing a bunch of rich people be unhappy even with all their wealth.

It has the same plot as the first two seasons: Oh someone died, I bet you're wondering how we ended up here. (Cut to a few weeks earlier to show a bunch of rich people being unhappy on vacation with some side stories about the people who work at the hotel.)

Yeah there really isn't an overarching plot, it's a character driven drama with smaller stories that occasionally overlap, White Lotus is basically a rich people soap opera on an HBO budget with better writing. There isn't anything wrong with that, I still enjoy the show.

It's an enjoyable show, but this season has definitely felt like the weakest so far. Most of the characters's storylines are just kind of boring or have already been done in previous seasons.

As someone who hasn't watched any of the seasons, it's still weird that I haven't absorbed any knowledge of the show's plots through cultural osmosis. You'd think I would have picked up something.
