Instant Coffee gets a bad rap, amirite?

Instant coffee gets exactly the reputation it deserves. The same as instant grits, instant oatmeal, or anything else featuring the word instant. You don't make instant coffee because it's high quality, you do it because it's quick. What reputation do you think it should have?

I've also seen an opinion that listed instant coffee being faster to prepare. Well, my nespresso machine would like a word, all I do in the morning with one of my eyes half open is press a button and in 20 seconds I have my coffee which is much better, and I don't need to grab a kettle, boil water and so on

Just eat the coffee granuels. It's quicker and "more instant" than Instant Coffee. Afterall, it's about getting the caffeine into you quickly.

I've switched to instant only a while ago. A few tips: Buy good instant coffee. Use less and add more as needed. And if you use creamer, add the coffee to it first and stir, then add your water. If you drink it black add the crystals to a bit of cold water first and stir, then add the hot water.

Just found some at my local Dollarama for less than I usually see elsewhere. Think I'll buy a few ata time. In the morning I drink a cup of Tim Hortons instant and then I buy one before work at THs. Is richer on account of the 18% cream (I think).

It's typically made with robusta which has great caffeine load and is a hardy plant but really not known for flavor. So coffee snobs are not going to give it respect. And that is perfectly fine and shouldn't impact anyone's enjoyment of it.

I've tried a dozen different instant coffee brands and they all smell the same to me. Something about the freeze drying process effects the smell.
