....what do you think goths are?? They...they ARE expressing their identity and personality based on their fashion. At least as much as anyone else is?

I agree with that but at the same time there is so much gatekeeping what it is to be goth that it makes a lot of people change who they are so they can identify as goth. The music especially, I know a good amount of people that would have never listened to some of the music they say they do if it wasn't labeled as goth.

goth culture has been but it's also been a lot of other stuff like for others, a aesthetic for fun, or simply because someone likes it rather than it displaying who they are, and many things instead. what I want to express is that learning to love genuineness and love your own identity rather than trying to change it is a good thing, generally it's better- please try it.

A) if you think being goth is just about the clothing, you don't know anything about goth culture. B) for like 6 years my personality was best expressed by shades of black, bones and skulls, to the point where I was constantly asked if I was a goth. (I wasn't, but it looked like it.)
